Not trying to sound negative but why do we not have any other bats over there.

I mean what if Michael Clarke gets injured - or Hughes gets a pair.

Duhhhhhhh Uncle Merv's thought of that....McDonald will just bat up the order.

Why are we even batting, our bowlers need all the help they can get and today is perfect swinging conditions.

Spastic spastic spastic spastic

Gotta feel for Hughes...who let him take the first over?

He wanted it which I thinks good, but what a terrible shot. I guess when you rely so much on 2-3 shots when you get one short and wide I guess he just thought he should go for it. Terrible though.

He could get plastered this series if hes not carefull.

To be fair it bounced more than you would usually expect and in his nervous exuberance he chased it...I just think that regardless of his wishes, Ponting/Katich should have put their foot down and told him to watch the first one from the other end. He looked totally unsettled and any extra time out there would have helped him get a feel for the pitch and even for just being out there. Anyways, it's done now

I cant believe Bollinger's not in the team, what's Hilfenhaus got over him.

Gotta feel for Hughes, shouldve had Katich face the first over.

If they had to play McDonald, Hilfenhaus is 10 times better than Bollinger who was ordinary in his 1st test in his own backyard.

F..k Katich out

Hilfenhaus lucky to even get a wicket.

Unlucky for Katich, I hope our fielding is as good as that.
