Hayden is becoming slow in his old age. Now wonder he was dropped from the one day team.

Anderson is just a park cricketer.

Not really, as at least Hayden got out to a decent bowler! How the heck can you get out to Jimmy Anderson's meat pies!

Guess you have to ask Kallis, Lara and Gayle some of Anderson victims.

Will we declare overnight or bat for a bit tomorrow morning?

Id say, once Langer gets his ton or gets out beforehand, then we just slog for a few overs then declare

No conspiracy theories needed, Punter isn't smart enough to even think of them.

No but he doesnt need to be....just be able to follow instructions given by the Powers That Be.

We'll bat for about a hour and a bit. Give them 45 mins before lunch. Then you have over a day and a half to bowl them out!

Anderson can be a decent bowler and was bowling well before breaking down. Bowled sh*t this test tho. Still clarke did get out to a good ball.

Locky - Clarke outbatted Hayden this test. Deal with it.

So what? Hayden still s..ts on Clarke! 20 plus test tons and a average of 50+ suggest he sh..ts on Clarke easily!

But 37 and 21 is a fair start to the series. Got a great ball in the 1st innings, and made a poor judgement call in the 2nd innings. Not that bad a start from Haydos!

Clarke made more than that in one knock

McGrath said in his post match interview that it was to let the pitch deteriorate even more and let the bowlers freshen up

I suspect it had more to do with keeping the bowlers fresh, as its the first test of a 5 test series then the ODIs, and despite the good bowling performance, we do have an ageing bowling attack so they may need to be managed differently to previous bowling attacks

However, I dont expect them to admit such a thing

Well it may back fire there is storms predicted for Monday! But come on this is the first test for the season, McGrath has hardly bowled, Clark the same Warne the same and what the heck Lee also. They have just came back from a huge break. I can understand in the 3rd, 4th and 5th test but the 1st test of the season?

how good is Pidge bowling ?

gee this Cook is a deadset back foot player

he gets a half volley served up to him and just pats it out to the covers

they pretty much worked him out when McGrath got him in the first innings, he doesn't move his feet forward to anything pitched up, all his weight is on his back foot, with our bounce here he is gonna struggle with that technique

Cook is a fine player and when Vaughan returns England will have a strong batting line up - probably one of the strongest seen on our shores for a long while.

Doesn't mean jack against the likes of McGrath and Warnie though. Take or leave Lee as a Test bowler - still not convinced.
