This is getting ridiculous, I'm getting sick of seeing this rubbish batting line up. Sack the bunch of them and have a team of younguns.

Why do our batsmen play blocks at deliveries that are clearly not going to hit the stumps?

I blame twenty twenty cricket. Its an abomination and is turning test cricket to shit

Ponting has been playing that shot for years, no idea why he feels the need to reach so wide early in his innings.

Cowan is the only bloke playing anything sort of like what is needed in test cricket.

Everyone getting excited about Ponting last summer needs to realise slapping around Yadav and Sharma is a bit different to facing these blokes or England. He should have retired last year.

I've been saying this for months. I'd rather see the likes of Hughes and Khawaja in there and failing. Have them learn on the job would be better than seeing 30 somethings like Quiney and Ponting failing because they won't be around next time we're a decent team.

The Poms did fine last time they were here and the Saffers are doing just fine at it. It's just us that don't understand when they put the whites on that the game goes for FIVE days.

He used to be pinpoint precise at knowing when to leave and when the block. But in the last few years with age he's just lost the natural feel you have for off stump. He doesn't know where it is so he's pushing at much more than he needs to.

So glad Langer is f**king off after this test. All the batsmen make the same mistakes he used to.

Also add that the older players who used to be in the side to guide the newer, younger guys are no longer providing that. Accumulated with not scoring runs, why have them in the team?

True but Punter hit 162 and 60 odd not out heading into this match he should be in better touch then what he just showed. Personally I feel he is to old to face the new ball these days and needs to come in when the ball is 15-20 overs old at the earliest.

So bat 10 or 11 then?

Our batting order is a mess and I hate this talk of moving Clarke up the order, he is our best player of spin and having him in at 5 allows us to combat the opposition spinner. A decision needs to be made on whether we can carry two aggressive players in Watson and Warner at 2 and 3 or whether to pick a 3 who plays like Amla and Trott.

We cannot take Ponting to England. He is a liability.

The worst bit is if he sticks around for the Sri Lanka tests he will plunder guys like Kulasekara and Welagedara and get a ticket to the Ashes.

Quiney needs to be stamped never again as well.

Big difference scoring runs on those flat drop in wickets than playing these blokes at the Gabba. I've been saying for ages Steyn and co will make mince meat out of him. He will then score runs against an average Sri Lankan attack and people will think he is back again only to get owned in England :? They don't have the balls to drop the Merkin.
