We lost this test badly, our batting to blame

at 0/158, Steyn out of action after we lost one wicket, we SHOULD HAVE put on 350+

SOK need to come in for Lyon, would improve our bowling ..and batting
We need to piss off Voges and MMarsh NOW, Start giving some others guys an extended run like we have with these two imposters

Joe Burns in for Voges
Hilton Cartwright in for MMarsh
O'Keefe in for Lyon
Chadd Sayers in for Joe Mennie and I would play him ahead of Siddle.

Much improved batting line-up and Sayers completely outbowled Mennie in latest Sheffield Shield.

Anyway, first two days of Hobart will probably be mostly washed out.

SA win by 177 runs. A huge win considering they were one great bowler down and 4 for 30 odd in the first session.

Best for Australia:
Warner
Khawaja
Neville

For SA:
Elgar
Duminy
Philander

Rabada needs to be man of the match. I'm not sure when he decided to leave his village but he stood up when SA were a bowler down and led the attack to victory.

Yeah, I'd give that side a whirl. Sayers could be particularly useful in Hobart where it swings and seams.

Now to hobart with an unchanged 12 where the only change will probably be Siddle out and Bradmennie in.

Very odd that the selectors haven't allowed themselves the flexibility of at least making a couple of changes to the bowling line up with back to back tests. Bird for Siddle and O'Keefe for Lyon would be just common sense selections
So they won't happen.

Burns is not a test player imo.

I used to be a big fan of the DRS but after this test I have lost confidence in it. Take Oozie's dismissal, hard to see how the ball can straighten that much off the seam and Smith's LBW was similar, it was never gonna hit the stumps imo.

Philander MOTM for mine.

I don't think Warner did enough when it counted.

Why the need for an all rounder at all??? Maybe pick a quick that eats red meat as the 3rd seamer who can send more then 10 overs down before he turns into a spinner???

There are some positives out of that, despite the huge loss;

Khawaja batted really well

Nevill was outstanding IMO, that's basically how he should bat all the time. He can probably be a little more aggressive when he's not playing for a miracle draw, but he put on 115 runs with the tail. That's very valuable in any situation.

Hazelwood and Starc bowled well, particularly on day one.

What we need is change in the middle order IMO. Joe Burns back, with either him or Smarsh in the middle order and the other opening, and I'd give Ferguson a go. He's in good form, he's very experienced and he knows how to play a long innings. Bird in for Siddle on his home track, Voges and M Marsh out....but it won't happen.

I also don't like Lyon on form...SOK or Zampa at least offer some kind of variation

Semi Rabrada MOTM for mine, he bowled much better in the first innings then his figures suggested and he totally destroyed any chance we had for a draw last night.

Just in two added for the next test, Burns for Darsh who has a busted finger and Ferguson in hopefully to replace MMarsh at 6.

Is that Callum Ferguson? He'd be as old as the Don?

Warner gets a lot of love, with some justification, but seriously is he geniused? There is simply no need to score at a run a ball all the time, he can't adapt at all
