Nothing like some hyperbole to get the death-riding train right on track....Poms are getting shown up by the Windies at home....
True, they are in some bother this test. But even if they lose this test Broad and co will be salivating at the thought of ripping through our awful, awful batting line-up

217 all out. Agar keeping us in it, but need to demolish them with the ball to have any remote chance

Yeah but how are their bats gonna feel about facing up to Starc, Haze and Cummins? Kemar Roach and Shannon Gabriel bowled them out at home FFS...

Anyway all over, realistically we'll be pretty happy with that given the start and the usual collapse that happens around Wade. Agar was outstanding, bat him at 7 and drop Wade down to 11 lol.

Drop the 'down to 11' bit and that'd be a big improvement Baz

It'll be interesting to see which spinner Smithy goes for first.

Will he go with the "spinning away from the left hander" but ultimately safe idea and use Lyon? Because I thought Agar was more threatening in the first innings and with the variable bounce his height will be more of a threat than any turn away from the bat. And I like Smith as a cricketer, but I do think his captaincy leans heavily towards the less adventurous

And it's the safe option with two right arm offies... Not that I'm suggesting it's the wrong option, it might well work beautifully.

I guess I just sometimes think Smith is too predictable. It's almost as though his bowling changes follow a regimented plan. Quicks first and foremost, then this fixation with spinning the ball away...

Listening to the big sports breaky the other morning I'm pretty sure that TK said if we lose the first test that we would drop to 6th on the test rankings.
