Last time we saw Siddle in the Australian side he was bowling sub 130km lollipops. I’m sure he will get through a lot of overs during this test and maybe hold up an end but I doubt he will run through the Pakistani batting order.

The decks of England are probably very far removed from what the pitches in the UAE will be like.

Happy to be proven wrong though, probably would have been better off picking a young bowler with a future ahead of them.

We couldn't take them down in UAE when we were in a lot better shape than we're in now. I'm just looking at it as building experience. Still think Renshaw should be playing because I think he's one that will be in the side for years to come.
Not sure how's he's going to get experience running drinks.

I’m really keen to see how this plays out. Hopefully Siddle bowls really well & supports Starc who I’m sure will bowl well.

Batting may be an issue.

Any news on the pitch condition or is it still the same?

I think Renshaw isn't playing soley because he took a head knock in the warm up match (while fielding in close). I think they are playing it safe , rather than he was dropped. With JL coach you never know though

the 89 ashes squad was labelled worst ever, so you never know (just joking)

Just want us to compete well , win or lose

I'm no Siddle devotee but I don't mind his selection here. An old dog for the hard Road... I'd shy away from picking a younger bloke with promise in 40 degrees and a deck offering zilch for the quicks to be honest... Probably do more harm than good I reckon

I think almost everyone is going to get a bowl today. Short sharp spells for the quicks. 4 overs max/spell.
