You want to know what is wrong with test cricket and what is destroying it?

Just take a look at this game. Really is a joke when you have scores like this. I wonder what the crowds have been like.

there was a news headline i saw somewhere saying no one at karachi to watch the game

From what I've read, it's 200 people and 2000 securty police. Something has got to happen to Test Cricket if it is to survive. Maybe limit the number of overs in the first innings to 140, with a ball change after 70 overs.

Its not the style of game cause we in australia, england and asouth africa are still drawing crowds. Its the conditions that are creating boring draws. And its the boring batting of international teams. Also that side on paper for Pakistan is very very ordinary. Had Sri Lanka been on a more interesting wicket i have no doubt Pakistan would be batting right now to save the test, batting in their second innings.

I have found the tests in the Carribeen rather interesting

True, I could've sworn Khan walked out to bat with an e-tag around his neck. Maybe the ICC need to setup a panel of grounsmen with a team from both sides involed in preparing a deck for a game. Just a thought.

The whole problem is groundsmen around the world are trying to make 5 day wickets. Look what has happened in Australia. The SCG hardly spins anymore an the Waca has lost it's pace and is just a road. The only pitch that hasn't changed is the Gabba, thats why it is the best cricket wicket in the Country.

Isn't that the desirable idea, to get a match with a result late on the fifth day. Look at the last two years in Sydney. Agree with you on the Gabba by the way, with the deck that is. The outfield is s***house though.

The idea is to make a wicket which will produce a good cricket match. If it produces good cricket that only goes for 3 and a half days, then so be it. I can't even begin to imagine how boring this test match would have been for all involved.

Exactly....just because a match goes for 3 days doesn't mean it's not exciting. And just because it goes for 5 doesn't mean it's been a good match...bring back the contest between bat and ball. IMO the best Test wicket (hypothetically speaking) offers something for the seamers day 1 and the start of day 2, is good for batting day 2 and 3, starts to turn and reverse day 4 and 5. Make it a challenge, not batting practice

pakistan just cracked 700

the ICC really need to introduce regulations on pitches that are produced ... this will turn out like the india v sri lanka match where india made 500 odd and sri lanka ended up making 900

respectable ?

not in my book

Crazy got dropped for similar figures and McGain has never played for Australia so why would they want to watch a replay of that ?

They both went for 2.5 an over, not 5+ like Krezja and McGain have in recent times
