Centurion supposed to be a real quick deck

Yeah it's been teeming down in Potchefstrom apparently. Would have been impossible to get any play.

Well that's fine then, at least it wasn't to squeeze in more T20 matches or something.

On what was a day 4 pitch (the same pitch the Saffers just had a 3 day practice on) against some of the best bowlers in the world. 6 of our batsmen scored between 0 and 34. One scored 83. Even though he came in at 7 he ended up facing one third of the entire days deliveries. But IMO he should not be picked because he sucks and the prettier batsman who scores much less runs should be our number 3.

In all seriousness, whether it is Doolan or Hughes (I expect it will be Doolan), the fact that it looks like Watson is going to number 6 is a great thing. Both Doolan and Hughes are better options at 3. This way Watson bats at where his talent level is and he can bowl properly. If he breaks down f**k him off permanently.

If Watson, moves down the order, it should be at 5 rather than 6.

1. Warner
2. Rogers
3. Doolan
4. Clarke
5. Watson
6. Smith
7. Haddin
8. Johnson
9. Harris
10. Siddle
11. Lyon

I think that would be our strongest team on paper. Not going to happen though.

Interesting the way public opinion is right now.

I'm often made out to have opinions so ridiculous that they are in the extreme minority. This is often a case of playing the man not the ball. Many in this subforum take whatever opinion disagrees with my own. If it was a different username saying the exact same thing there would be a different response.

Take for example how the public is picking this team. Out of the hundreds of people that have submitted their vote so far the 11 most picked players are the same 11 I voted for.

In the real world where people don't hate "BunniesMan" I often have very mainstream sporting opinions.

I like Doolan. I think he is a better number 3 than Watson. He'd be the next batsman picked in my team. But he doesn't even have a great conversion rate in first class cricket. 6 tons in 94 innings at an average of below 38.

Having said that, if the indications are correct and Doolan is at 3 and Watson is at 6 we will be stronger in both positions than we were in the Ashes.

Watson has been ruled out due to injury.

I would presume Henriques will come in and bat at 7.

Interesting to see who gets the gig at no.3.

If doolan plays Clarke should move up for mine. If it's Hughes he'd probably come in at 3.
