The VFL actually had a QLD team before the NSWRL did.

That doesn't really say anything, RL's been no.1 since like the 30's.

It does show though that the Swans and Lions have had 10 more years to develop a following than the Storm. Therefore it isn't all that fair to compare their profiles.

RL has been on top since 1908...

The Fitzroy Bears are a joke. They've been in QLD longer than the Broncos, Cowboys or Titans and they're still a second rate franchise.

Good point.

lowest Sydney average then?

Really, it should be a case of each Sydney team can only hold a maximum of 10 games within the Sydney basin, with exception of possibly Wests Tigers, and I only say them because they are already across 3 venue...

So for the Bulldogs, Roosters, Sea Eagles, Eels, Panthers, Sharks and Rabbitohs they would be encouraged and appropriately compensated to take games to:

  • Gosford
  • Adelaide
  • Perth
  • Cairns
  • Darwin
  • Wellington
  • Christchurch
14 Games, 7 venues to be targeted, naturally Gosford will get the majority, but I think it would go a long way to helping Sydney crowds (reducing the number of matches in the market) whilst at the same time, helping take matches to new/developing markets.

Seems a number of different locations are trying to work their way in to the NRL picture. The game is on the up though we do try our best to distort this view leaping from exaggerated crisis to exaggerated crisis. Adelaide has always been on the periphery with CC, Perth, Wellington and Brisbane 2 looking as the next options. Could the NRL be a 20-24 side continental mega league sooner than we thought in Oceania with most centres of populace having a side? Get a Darwin/PNG side in alongside Adelaide with maybe a 3rd Brisbane and Pacific Islands side and the AFL and S14 would be bricking it.

Forget about the 'N'RL, tag, the NBA and NHL do alright with it in the US.

Things look bright for the NRL, just need the Perth and CC side in sooner than later to get the wheels in motion.

Take this with a huuuge pinch of salt. SACA are desperately looking for ways to help pay for the new stand at Adelaide Oval and are looking to attract AFL games as well.

This desperation will hopefully pay off for us South Australians though.
