Never knew Walters played for Newcastle.

Is that Mad Dog or BK in the background?
Kerrod Walters never played for Newcastle, however Steve Walters did in 1999. He lasted a few games, then retired and a young Danny Buderus took over.

But, like others have said, that is the Adelaide Rams in that photo.

It looks like there is a core base of 7000 RL fans in Adelaide based on those crowd numbers. More than I expected.

Taking a game or 2 to SA is a good move. I'm not sure if a Sydney team locking in a 5 year commitment is so good though. Unless they seriously want to relocate (please let it be Souths).

Not sure what the state of local RL is in SA but there should definately be an effort made to recruit players and volunteers from the crowd, even if it just handing out a few brochures at the gate on where to play RL.

I just wish the NRL would organise this.

The NRL should be making all clubs elect one game to be taken to an expansion area every year, and organise it so that there is a guaranteed gate (say 100K) for each club, so they don't lose out, but also allowing the NRL to organise say 4-5 games in Perth, 4 games in Adelaide etc every year.

A great time for these games to be played would be around Origin time, when attendances are usually low for clubs due to Origin, but visability of Rugby League in these other areas is high due to origin. Sort of a win win situation.

This is a top idea.

Agree completely with that.

thats more than wat u got to home games this year

Is there any credibility in forcing (for want of a better word) the club with the worst crowd average to take 3 games on the road for the next year?

Theoretically this should increase their averages.

There is every possibility that club could be Melbourne, Canberra or Auckland. That wouldn't be a great look.

There is definitely merit in the idea of every team playing one game a year in one of Perth, Adelaide, CC, Sunshine Coast, Wellington, PNG

*3000th post* I need a life. Anyone got one I can borrow for a while, try out and see if I like it?

All teams should have to take x amount of games on the road, even if it's as little as 1 every 2 years.
