2 Team Comp?

Last Night, Melbourne and Manly played an outstanding game. They have been labelled as the best in the competition and the Grand Final contenders for 2008.

Does anyone think they will be the Grand Finalists or will another teams rise to the occassion?

I personally don't think it is a two team comp. Anyone can win on a good day..Anyone in the Top 5 at the moment can make the Grand Final.

Roosters are also a bloody good team.

Both Manly and Melbourne will be definitely hoping that they finish first, because number two wont want to play the Roosters before the GF ...

Roosters are good enough to knock out Manly and melbourne...but can they play for the entire 80min?

they have the personal but until they show an 80min performance that is fantastic....they won't win it.

Who have the roosters beat recently? A reserve grade Manly side and just scraped home against the wooden spooners. I will hold my judgement until they beat a top team in form.
Cronulla and Broncos will be the challengers.

The Roosters, Broncos & Sharks are all capable of winning in the finals. In 2005 everybody thought it would be a Dragons vs. Eels grand final and instead we got Tigers & Cowboys.

I am really struggling to see the "good" in last nights game.

Manly's forwards showed just how useless melbourne's pack is by making easy metres all night, and then added to that how sh*t their own backline and particularly halves pairing is not being able to score more than 2 tries despite seemingly endless sets on melbourne's line.

Melbourne, on the other hand, had their forward pack shown up massively, and also showed just how stupidly reegimented they are in attack by flat out refusing to spread the ball wide no matter how much Manly compressed their defence. Honestly do Inglis and Cronk ever actually look at what is in front of them or do they just follow Bellamy's gameplan written on their hand??

If anything I think last night showed that the competition is much more open than anyone expected.
