I always feel a little torn when its around the time to make a declaration. Waitling's innings annoyed me though. If he had of played a bit more positively, we might have had 10 overs at them with the same total.

I am a bit conservative TBH, we needed to make sure that the test was unlosable - we have a test series win against the world's #2 side for the offing, no need to jeopardise that...

Unfortunately I am at work and can't watch, but at 12/0 after 12 overs I am assuming Pakistan are trying to stonewall all day? Or will they plan a cunning Javed like counter attack later?

Unless Pakistan lose their head this will be a draw, which is fine because it's still a series win.

NZ lack that strike bowler who can take a wicket from nowhere at any time.

It's also why I think Pakistan will lose 3-0 to the Aussies later on in their test series. The way Pakistan bat is very negative and I think the Aussies have enough strike to keep chipping away the wickets faster than Pakistan can plod towards a decent total.

Still doable - 270 odd from about 47 overs - are they interested? Never know what Pakistan is up to TBH. they've pulled many rabbits of hats against us - of course that often involved Waqar, Wasim, Miandad and Inzamum.

More chance of us getting wickets then, and we can always go to the McGrath approach if needed...
