how can you put canberra above parra salivor? A full strength Parra would whoop a full strength Raiders

I can see them dying in the arse big time

Come on Ozbash, you know come seasons end the Warriors will no doubt have a new coach, a couple more star players shown the door and a lowly position on the table

thats a very real possibility, the first part may not be such a bad thing.

hmm interesting
despite being among the best performing teams in the opening 10 rounds, spending most this season inside the top 4, canberra are still being written off by some for the 8, and most others only just sneaking in...

all bias aside i cant understand it myself. We have a decent draw in origin, good run home and really only need to win another 5 games to make the 8. 7-10 will see us in the top 6 - 4.

Moffo, table positions aren't decided on head to head battles and who is the better team on paper, they are decided on total points for the minor premiership, sorry to state the obvious. Parramatta certainly have more fire power but a couple of wins isn't going to convince me yet they're still not the schizophrenic Parramatta of the last few years. The Raiders have shown so far this year despite a distinct lack of stars that they come to play the full 80 every week and can grind out a win, enough to get them a top 8 spot on top of their great start to the season.

With all the talk of sacking Kemp, the Warriors are becoming as bad as one of those English Premier League sides. What would be achieved by another mid season culling of the coach?

I have no confidence in picking a final ladder but I will suggest a few certainties.

BRISBANE will finish in the top 3.

ST GEORGE, ROOSTERS, SHARKS, Nth QLD will be in the top 8.

WARRIORS and TIGERS will finish somewhere between 9-13.

SOUTHS AND NEWCASTLE will finish in the bottom 2 and face relegation. For the moment it seems that Parramatta reserve grade and Newtown are the most likely to gain promotion to 1sts.

CANTERBURY and MELBOURNE both have the strikepower to suggest that they should be entrenched in the top 4 but inconsistency might be their problems.

PARRAMATTA are a very very impressive side. They are the only team to hold the mighty tigers attack to less than 20 points this year- for the moment we'll forget the debarcle in Brisbane. I hope they make the 8.

CANBERRA will continue to snort the starch and play well above their skins. I can't see them missing the 8.

PENRITH. I don't know what's happening there. Maybe next year.

MANLY. Sometimes I like them and sometimes I dont. The only time they look capable in attack is when theyre up against embarassing defensive sides like souths+the tigers.

Hmm...

1-Brisbane
2-StGI
3-NQLD
4-Melbourne
5-Manly
6-Cronulla
7-Bulldogs
8- Parramatta

Unlucky 9: The Raiders. Simply can't find space for them! That said, they only need to win 5 to get over the line.

Quite possibly the beginning of a changing of the guard.

I agree with that table.

Personally, I don't think he's done too bad a job, Tony Kemp.

There's a lot of "experts" passing judgment on the Warriors in the media, boof headed this, bone headed that, but one suspects those judgments have been made purely on where they sit on the competition table. Quite fickle in many respects.

Anyone who's sat down objectively and watched the games can see they're a mile ahead of where they were last year, completion's a lot better, defence is enormously better, fitness is a lot better and even now discipline is certainly on the improve. What they lack is capitalisation on good chances, they'd have to be the worst club in the comp for getting in a good position on attack and then not knowing how to put a man through a gap or lay on that perfect kick.

That's I'd suggest an easier thing to fix than what was on his agenda when he first came to the club.

I personally said I'd give him until round 10 this year discarding what happened last year because he, Wayne Bennett, or God could not have turned that around. I'm not judging him on 3-6, 3-4 of those losses have been damn unlucky, they've probably been the better team in the last 3 they just don't know yet how to win. They're not far off being a decent side.

the situation for Penrith is simple

We win tomorrow - I'm confident we'll make the 8

We lose tomorrow - we'll have to wait till next season.

I went through and made predictions for all remaining matches this season. As a result, I came up with (using current F/A where teams are level on points):

1. Cronulla Sharks - 40
2. Brisbane Broncos - 38
3. North Queensland Cowboys - 38
4. Canberra Raiders - 36
5. Parramatta Eels - 32
6. Canterbury Bulldogs - 32
7. Manly Sea Eagles - 30
8. St. George Illawarra Dragons - 30

9. Wests Tigers - 30
10. Melbourne Storm - 28
11. New Zealand Warriors - 26
12. Sydney Roosters - 24
13. Penrith Panthers - 22
14. South Sydney Rabbitohs - 10
15. Newcastle Knights - 4
