I didnt just guess how I think the final table would look.
I actually picked a winner for each game remaining and that is how the table finished up..

Believe me some teams finishing places like the dragons and panthers surprised me..
but that is how I picked it week to week....

Bulkebabs - I am guessing Dogs LAST??? Premiers to LAST??

Ollie, don't take any notice of Alex. He's still clinging to his '02 claytons. Most Rooster boosters here have a level head about things - he doesn't.

I'll post mine later when it's not so cold.

Roosters a lot lower and Bulldogs a lot higher and I'd agree.

Brisbane look like they are this years minor premiers.

Bulldogs have to get over their bad start to the season but I don't think they can - well not enough to make the eight but if they do they will be a team to beat.

Roosters mid field - but stupid things happen - 2002 springs to mind - they are in the ieght now with a bye to come at the right time of the season - however, if they make the 8 they along with Penrith would only be making up numbers IMO

Going to wait until after this week to see how teams like the Dragons and Sharks cope minus their origin stars also the Roosters, Broncos and Cowboys who combined will field 16 players in the Origin will need to play at least 1 game during this period without those players.

1 - Brisbane
2 - North Queensland
3 - Manly
4 - Melbourne
5 - Canberra
6 - Bulldogs
7 - Sharks
8 - Parramatta
9 - Dragons

In an ideal world we will swap Parra with Newcastle

More chance of Melb finishing 2nd than Canberra :p

I wouldn't say that, Canberra may not have the firepower but they at least have mental toughness and know how to grind out wins, something that is holding Melbourne back from being a genuine contender.

1 Brisbane Broncos
2 Melbourne Storm
3 North Queensland Cowboys
4 Cronulla Sharks
5 St George Illawarra Dragons
6 Manly Sea Eagles
7 Canberra Raiders
8 Sydney City Roosters
9 Parramatta Eels
10 Warriors
11 Canterbury Bulldogs
12 Penrith Panthers
13 Wests Tigers
14 Souths Rabbitohs
15 Newcastle Knights

I'll take a bet though that the final round robin ladder ends up not being anything anyone picks. There's too many variables.

I've picked Penrith out of the eight, because I don't believe the bulk up plan works. But they're proven to be successful. I've tipped Canberra to run in the eight, but my word that all changes if Jason Smith goes down. I've tipped Melbourne to run high up, but they've been a bit iffy of late. Brisbane usually don't go so good after Origin, but I think perhaps Webcke sticking around might help as well as better younger players hanging around too. North Queensland have shown lots, but they've also shown they can perform poorly at times too. Even the Warriors, most are looking at them, and possibly rightly, and writing them off, but their last three games has seen losses by 2 points, 4 points, 4 points to Panthers, Sharks, and Roosters, and all in likelihood they probably were the better team in all games - as a Warriors fan, it could do two things, A: they could find the ability to finish off attacking raids and roll a few teams B: they could get downhearted and give up the ghost. For all we know, players the Dragons rely on again may go down injured, and where would that leave them?

If Bulldogs can jag the 8 and get all their players back for the semis it may not matter where anyone finishes... but I'll have a crack anyway

Top four in any order

1.Broncos.... looks as though they have the team to make it at this stage (see Mr Angry)
2.Sharks... at the moment they are the fittest hardest pack in the comp having a dream run with no injuries but still a question mark on their attacking ability.
3.Cowboys... Only because of their great start to the season but will make the 8. Lets see how well they go after rep season.
4.Dragons.. They are the best team in the comp. Can they overcome thier inconsistencies.

Top 8 in any order

5.Eels...looks as though they are getting fitter and defending well off thier line. Tim Smith will be a fine player for them but next year is when they will really shine.
6.Manly. Could easily replace them with Cowboys in this prediction..playing well enough for a top four with 16 points
7.Melbourne.. Great attacking team. thier forwards have been found out at times
8.Raiders...probably finish higher than 8 and have a good enough team to make the 4 but they have discipline issues to work on or they will slide.

The Fringies

Who'd of thought Roosters and Bulldogs be mentioned here? I'm predicting them both to finish outside the 8 (maybe replace Roosters with Melbourne) and Bulldogs as fore mentioned.

The could be's

Warriors.. they just don't know how to win could be a fringie though.
Panthers..I dont think they can do it this year. they just don't look fit enough.
Tigers.. Still showing some form but have been owned by a few sides as well

The rest

Souths.. With 6 and a half thousand people at thier game last week they are starting to look like the side we all love to play for an easy 2 points.
Knights.. Unfortunate year for the knights but good clubs always bounce back (see Sharks Eels Manly Canberra)

Come on Ozbash, you know come seasons end the Warriors will no doubt have a new coach, a couple more star players shown the door and a lowly position on the table
wink.gif
.

01. Brisbane Broncos
02. Cronulla Sharks
03. North Queensland Cowboys
04. St George-Illawarra Dragons
05. Manly Sea Eagles
06. Sydney Roosters
07. Melbourne Storm
08. Canberra Raiders
09. Parramatta Eels
10. Penrith Panthers
11. Canterbury Bulldogs
12. Wests Tigers
13. New Zealand Warriors
14. South Sydney Rabbitohs
15. Newcastle Knights

I just get the feeling the Broncos are finally going to get over the end of season slump this year, could be made to look the fool though in the upcoming couple of months.
The Sharks have a much easier run home than a lot of teams there while I expect the Roosters to only get better.
The Storm will drop off as they have a tendency to be hot and cold. The Panthers and Bulldogs will come home strong but it'll be too little too late and the Warriors are at a make and break point right now, they'll either make the finals or completely implode on themselves.
