DS what makes you think McGoldrick lacks speed?
From what i've seen of him he looks pretty quick to me.

Does form in the trials count only for the new guys?

I assume it does, because you are already discounting Goldy, despite the fact that you don't know what his form will be like come next year.

for a player in his first full year of NRL i think Mcgoldrick has held his own all season, he has a lot of heart and ability and once he establishes himself and the team strengthens i think he will be a quality centre.

I'm with you "1200" He certainly has a dig every week. Sure he missed his fair share of tackles, but too many people around here expect players to become overnight superstars.

What was the clinching factor BTR?
Was it his poor discipline and lack of focus in the secondlast match against Melbourne? Or his turnstyle defence and lack of speed out wide?

I can arrange for a match race between you and Ryan if you would like DS. Can also arrange for some tackling practice while we are at it. I am bemused as to where the lack of discipline statement comes from -- if it is from the penalties, we have already established that at least three of them were Mander/ Touchie errors. If you mean cause he busted Kidwell's nose -- the sook deserved it, I can also arrange for a boxing match if you would like.

Before he went to Rugby, McGoldrick impressed me as a good defender in Premier League. Since his return his defence has left a lot to be desired IMO. Dunno where the wheels fell off?

They wouldnt punch your head in! No way! They are good guys. You should say gidday to them one time & & you may understand on why everybody disagrees with you. They are committed professionals up to the task.

Completely far fetched. Without Peach this year, we would have come last.

Obviously we werent watching different games. So therefore, that only leaves one possibilty with the 100% disagreement with you & sharks supporters & the Sharks marketing department who use Peacheys image everywhere.

McGoldrick is not slow ... he just won't put the foot down for some reason, but he is an average defender atm .. not on his lonesome though.

Peachey is our best fullback option by a counrty mile, even I can see that and I'm half blind.
