FMD, how many players have we lost to the ESL this year? It must be a record surely?

Uesless player, Raiders discard and close to the ugliest player going around.

He may have been useless down in Canberra but he has been the most consistent prop at Manly for the last 12 months.

Haha, how professional.

Quality re-signing though. Lance has been massive for the Sharks this year, and it showed when he was out injured - your backrow looked half as effective and you lost some games (well, at least one).

Thurston extends Cowboys contract
June 26, 2006

CHAMPION playmaker Johnathan Thurston has agreed to a new deal that will keep him with the North Queensland Cowboys until the end of the 2010 NRL season.

It keeps the Dally M player of the year at the Cowboys for an additional three seasons beyond the term of his existing contract, which was set to expire at the end of next season.

Thurston, 23, has played in one Test and also five State of Origin matches for Queensland since shifting from the Bulldogs to the Cowboys and he also helped the club to the NRL grand final last year.

"My decision was directly influenced by the fact that we have such a strong playing roster here, complemented by a very good coaching staff," Thurston said.

Cowboys CEO Peter Parr said he was he was pleased to have secured the 23-year-old representative star on an extended deal.

"Signing Johnathan for an extended period of time is wonderful news for the club," he said.
