You have two options:

- be happy the Leichhardt crowd was good, and relax
- whinge and moan at the forum nazi, stressing you more.

;-)

More people through the gates is never a bad thing... I'm happy to be proven wrong... in fact I like going below the norm, means things are great if/when they come through better.

I feel sorry for you. The people of Leichhardt managed an excellent crowd in sh*thouse conditions and the thing that gives you the most happiness is hopping on a forum and giving it to somebody about it. Typical Tigers fans I guess. Weren't even satisfied after a premiership ;-)

I don't know about the crowd for our game this arvo. It feels about 5C, windy and probably going to rain. I wouldn't expect much more than 14-15K.

part of the Dragons claim is the huge away support they get in places like Brisbane and NQ.

I take your point NQ and trust me I'm not down on the Dragons though it may seem like it. however the fact is the Dogs are Sydney's biggest team when it comes to actually drawing people through the gate in Sydney. Talk, ecpectation and hope are all very well but the Dogs DO it with greater consistency than anyone else and i say that despite not being a doggie.

yeah but you look at the dogs, tigers biggest crowds at telstra...

im willing to bet the dragons figure highly, as both these teams do in saints highest drawing teams.

dragons fans love the big match up, hence why 30k will goto STG v bulldogs, roosters, tigers games...

Saints v Newcastle... doesn't get much bigger. Newcastle have a lot of support in southern Sydney and the Illawarra, the Dragons are supposedly massive in the Kogarah area... and for how many people campaigned for the R2K and all the sentiment behind it? 12k in perfect weather is pisspoor any way you slice it.

Since when do Newcastle have big support in Southern Sydney and the Illawarra?

It was a crap crowd, but wtf?

Probably on a more personal level for me, a lot of my friends who live in that region are Newcastle supporters (ex-pat Central Coasties ).

Not sure if it translates though

The Tigers haven't faired too badly either.

True and part of the reason is a good mix of roughly 6 games at the big place and 3 each at LO and CAMP. As you earlier said all the teams playing out of suburban venues should have a similar mix.

however if you start at say year 2000 and count only H and A games played in Sydney I'd be surprised if the Dogs were not on top. I must nerd about with the figures some time to check.

Factoring in the Sydney Showground games will show a pretty poor average tbh :(

Given the 19C temp and rain, Souths crowd looks good.
