Very true... although will the Tigers degenerate into how Souths were last year at Telstra if their form continues?

I think our form is petty good,as are our crowds.

Losing three away games by 2 points or less against two of the comp heavyweights is nothing to be sneezed at IMO.

I think you will see the results when we step down in class and play one of the middle ranked teams at home.

So long as the Tigers pick up two points next week against Cronulla at Campbelltown, I think the crowds will stick around for the side.

The club has done a lot of work to retain fans since their Grand Final success, you only have to look at the side's crowds last year despite not making the 8, and as mentioned by 'Simon Says' the club has performed reasonably well.... three games lost by a converted try or less does show the team has a lot of potential.

Very, very good crowd. Well done to all that went.

But I must say that based on past experiences and on the noise the crowd made tonight that very few people actually care about the footy.

Subtract 16,500 from that total, and you're on the money. (You've added the Actual Crowd in addition to Timmah's estimate about two pages back I think)

So Total:148,389
Average: 18,459

f**k. Standing room only tonight.

Good atmosphere from a normally placid Sharks fan base... the Dragons fans made noise for the first ten and then had little to crow about after, but rest assured they were there in numbers.

Very well done to all who went, it was a great night out.

Sharks/Dragons 19,137 - Fantastic crowd. What happened to the rain that was threatening to keep the crowd down?

Didn't appear to rain a drop yesterday or last night. Clear run up and down the #1 from Gosford.

Well well well... Sunday night football at EnergyAustralia Stadium, Sunday 23 April.

Will there ever be a bigger night in Newcastle?

I don't know about anyone else, but I am definitely getting my tickets ASAP... I reckon we're looking down the barrel of an absolute record crowd to say goodbye to Mr Johns.

Thoughts?

they should install temporary stands to the capacity of 500,000 so all of newcastle can attend. Nah seriously though, the 26,000 will sell out way in advance if they are doing something special for Johns.

Based on those numbers we'd be looking at an increase on last year.

Let's not jump the gun. After R4 llast year we were at just over 18,300 so we are down marginally so far round on round but it's early days. Titans drawing well so far but we have to hope the novelty doesn't wear off if the broncos beat them and in Sydney of course there are ups and downs with the troubles at the Tigers and Dragons and the disaster at Easts being offset by gereat news at Shark Park so far andf th eform of the Sea Eagles who draw better then they are given credit for and the Souths.

It's looking on par for last year. Home and Away average won't be too far away from 15,500.
