The Sharks? Who are set to have a crowd of at least 16,000 on Sunday - in a 19,000 capacity stadium?

Stick to what you know... nothing.

An ordinary crowd no argument, but at the end of the season, I dont think there will be too many complaints about the Tigers average crowds...

watch the Sydney fans chuck a wobbley when the GF moves to Brisvegas at least every few years to start with ... and lets face it ... it will happen, and Brisbane deserves it

thats a disgraceful crowd at Telstra and the crowd at Suncorp is amazing given Origin 2 nights earlier ....

Brisbane ... the home of RL

Oink !

Won't happen.

We filled a stadium to 96% capacity for an out of town Grand Final ffs.

do you think when Qld pitches to host the GF next time it comes up that the regular crowds won't be part of a very valid proposal ?

you are kidding yourself if you think Sydney can just turn up for the big night alone

its locked in until 2012 or so isn't it ?

you can bank on no more long term contracts for Telstra to host the GF if they manage to hold onto it every year at all next time its up for grabs

2 Sydney teams on a Friday night with good weather and you get 12k at the game ...

just hurry up and merge or go broke already

Oink !

Unless they can put another 25,000 seats into Suncorp, the grand final is not going anywhere...

Fair enough its only a 100 bucks to get there anyway, but FFS how bout you put it on a time slot our kids can watch??

The NRL has set the precedent that the Grand Final is a commodity to be purchased. The QLD government has already committed to putting in a bid when it next becomes available (2012?). Who knows, an offer of a few million dollars may be enough to overcome any crowd limitations at Suncorp, much in the same way QLD was able to secure the 2008 RL World Cup Grand Final.

They still have to outbid the NSW governement as well...

I don't mind the fact that the NRL can milk some money out of the hosting of the match, provided NSW keep outbidding the other states..

12000 very good Wests Tigers fans. A small crowd, but a very vocal one.

Cold Friday night against a team that bought a total of 4 fans. No other Sydney team besides the Bulldogs would of got a respectable crowd tonight against the side running motherless.

I'm very happy with Melbourne's crowds this year. The cynics will say we should get more given that we're a one team town, albeit one where AFL is a religion. But at the same time we don't have the luxury of having local derbies between 2 Sydney sides which inevitably bumps up average home crowd figures somewhat. It's great to be off the bottom and i hope to improve our standing on the crowd ladder before the seasons end.

It's all over at 9pm FFS.

Australia isn't the only market your pitching to considering there is a New Zealand team in the competition.

Send your kids to bed past 10pm do you? It's not all over for us until midnight. The game needs every helping hand it can get in a Union dominated country. Thanks to the shortsighted NRL and ARL it's biggest selling factors outside of tests to non-Rugby League fans that being SOO and the Grand Final are in time slots that excludes the average working man and certainly kids from being able to watch these events. I'm getting sick of talking to people and asking them if they watched the game and getting the same response that they would've loved to but went to sleep instead due to work in the morning.

So if the GF was to move to Brisbane, the time would change? Unlikely.

the tiger play far too many games at telstra. i know they get go money for doin it but that game at cambelltown would have been 20000 and had an awesome atmosphere. really they should only play the dogs, eels and draons at telstra the rest shoud be at the other grounds

Add to that if we want to fly down and see the GF, we dont have the public holiday the next day, and have to take a day off work or school to do so.

And before you start with the "its 1 day off, get over it" It a tight market place there is never 1 day off anymore.
