Yer but you have to feel for Bill Harrigan he's doing his job and following his guidelines and getting crucified by the panel. But that was a good debate they had.

I think it highlights the need to revise the rules, because I don't reckon any of those were tries, especially the last one.

I understand Bill's point about making the rules B&W so there's no debate about a try. Yet we're all still debating. None of those tries should've been awarded imo. Maybe we should get some ex footballers to assist the VR.

That was by far the worst so called comedian I have ever seen. They're better off putting Chief up there and asking him difficult questions and the watch him trying to comprehend what has been asked of him.

lmao what a sh*t comedian

The video ref stuff was interesting, just goes to show how sh*t it is imo. "Downward pressure"... like all the other guys said they need to take into account common sense. For me none of those guys had control.

How carved up did Bill Harrigan get. Loved it.

Also good to see Freddy speak the truth about the Roberts try. It was his own team and he admits he thought it was a no try. Like he was saying the rule has to be changed back to did the player have control when they grounded the ball.

P.s. World's worst comedian. I think someone pushed him off a cliff at a young age while he was in a shopping trolley.

I found it funny when everyone was wondering how Roberts' try was given and Bill Harrigan said that his pinky was never seperated from the ball then everyone started groaning after that.

And he thought that the path was bigger than the road.

I think they all railroaded Harrigan - he can only police the laws as they're presented to him. I don't think he was alolowed to finish one sentence. Annoyed me quite a bit acutually.

Tell me if I'm wrong but the player does not have to have 'control' do they, or has that been changed.... I thought all that is needed is for 'skin, leather, grass' and there not to be any separation? Tonie Carroll was in the process of knocking it on, but the ball never 'left' his hand....try.

Once we get to freeze framing, 'common sense' can't come into it IMO - it would get all too subjective for my liking... what do we do, freeze frame it, then relase it looks a bit dodgy, then go back and watch the normal speed replay to determin a 'common sense' ruling? really....

The refs have copped sh!te for all these years about making mistakes, so they have put black and white rules in for video replays so the room for error is reduced.... now, ppl aren't happy cos they don't 'feel' like tries? Make your minds up.

I think it is ironic that Gould and the Footyshow peeps talk about living with a decision whether its right or wrong, but its them that goes on and on about week after week, show after show.

There are going to be bad calls in every sport, i dont like it, but what i dont like even more, is a commentator blabbing on about it for 10 min while the game goes on around it, any new supporter would be turned off by the bickering and hate directed at the officals over a 50/50 call. All they do is create even more confusion and give the impression our game is not the complete package but rather a work in progress.

They admited last night Nine should take some responibility, and Harrigan said, they would remove the Video ref, if Nine stop showing replays and disecting the play, i dont want either to happen, i would rather get more plays right then wrong, and if Video refs help do that, im all for them. I still think we could implement a coaches challenge ect, but to start things off, stop the rot being portrayed to the public about every desicion being wrong by stopping these old hacks complaining and just commentate the damn game.
