I hoped we'd get more than just chief's early dig about SBW dogging his mates.

Sonny-Bill flat out lied to them on camera two weeks ago, and made them look like fools - they should have taken the guy apart.

When you say that, are you referring to when Sonny Bill said publicly that he was committed to the Bulldogs and would see out the remainder of his contract?

Yeah (I think so)? Don't have the transcript handy, but yeah, he came on the show after his manager nitwit had been saying all sorts of things publically, and gave the assurance that he was loyal etc.

Fitzy had a fair point- Union players have been coming over to League for decades. $BW leaving is hardly the end of the game that some people are making it out to be.

Yep, it's a huge story.

But we are overreacting if we think the sky is falling because of one marquee player going off prematurely...

:lol:s at Matt Johns linking Gower and Rooney and SBW as a "crisis in the game" rather than just linking their human nature trait of greed for the coin...

Good on Vossy, for showing Fiztsimon's view of the salary cap as an illegal cartel keeping salaries down as very flimsy...

If the clubs aren't making money (which they aren't) then how can they pay much more than current levels!!! Dickheads.

Yeah, Manly won in 1987, their first premiership in 20 yrs!!! Um, hello????? I believe that the Sea Eagles also won premierships in the '70s as well (1972, 1973, 1976, 1978).

I'm surprised the Manly CEO didn't pull Fitzy up on that one

Nice maths Fitzy- "When Manly won the Premiership in 1987, it was the first time they'd won the comp in 20 years!"

The difference between 1978 and 1987 is 20, isn't it?

The Manly guy giving it to Fitzsimmons on his simplistic view on private investment and hard decisions (mergers etc) work automatically. Said something like Manly went backwards five years and are only now catching up to where they were before the last criteria/restrusture?

Heaven forbid we get impatient and screw things in the game up again... just because SBW wants more money!

The main question - Would SBW have left if the Dogs were leading the comp?

Answer : Don't be stupid, of course not.

JT making some sense... saying you have to tough out the tough bits. Something the prima donna players of today like SBW and the others upping sticks to chase coin aren't inlcined to do...
