I can't see how we will find a decent back line for next year.

We look like being minus Carney, Quinn and Matt Gidley at this stage - with no guarentee at the moment that we will have Tighe and Carmont either - or Seage for that matter.

The only regular firstgrader we can be sure of is Thaiday - with a good chance Kidley will move from the halves to the backline.

McManus should be able to step up, and Hinton, but no one else in PL looks like firstgrade material.

Jon Wright, Aku Uate and maybe Matt Cooper could all step up if they have a great off season, and Gordon and Wooden are very outside chances.

We definately need two old wingers or centres to play for one year to add to our depth till the juniors can come through.

Guys like Tahu and Quinn were put into firstgrade at 18, and most of our Flegg backline is older than that.

Well if we are talking about '07 now... then we will have to look at signings.

What about Walker or Hannay we were intrested in? They could be signed for the '08 season as well. (for 3 year contracts I mean)

yeah 07 backline so far does look quiet young and weak. however there are rumours that brian smith is gathering a group of superstars in england so hopefully he does bring over some decent talent. have the knights acutally bought any players yet? not retained but bought any new players this year?

and roopy what about tighe? i think having kidley and tighe in the centres is like great. we just need some wingers maybe. hinton and someone? we could also play tighe in the wing position and hopefully we could sign a decent centre.

p.s i never knew quinn was that young when he debuted.... crzy

Right on Roopy. At the moment our backline for next year is looking very poor. I can't understand our clubs lack of action in the market to fill the positions being vacated.

I can't understand it either. The club just doesn't seem to be all that concerned with how many backs we are losing for next season.

I guess one of two things will happen: either management is having a shocker and our backline will be the worst in the comp next year, or things are going on that we have no idea about and we will suddenly have a couple of great signings announced from nowhere (won't hold my breath on this one).
