*Melbourne vs Brisbane played in Victoria, most likely Geelong or Melbourne, Feb 28th or March 1st.

* Or Melbourne vs Super League GF winner in the WCC somewhere over there that same weekend.

Updated the initial list. Now we're into the post-season, anymore?

Facing Souths & Bulldogs every pre-season is getting annoying.

Gotta agree. Takes the oomph out of meeting you guys in the season proper.

Bobby - "trial" is just what the thread is called. Clearly I'm making reference to pre-season matches.

the WCC may as well be a trial, thats how Aussie teams treat it. A trial with a holiday to England as part of it.

Dragons Vs Roosters at Perth is confirmed Feburary 14th.

EDIT: http://www.thewest.com.au/default.aspx?MenuId=4&ContentID=101840
Some of the biggest names and physiques in the National Rugby League will play in Perth in February in a pre-season match between the Sydney Roosters and St George Illawarra Dragons.

International and state of origin stars of the stature of Braith Anasta, Willie Mason, Luke Priddis and Wendell Sailor are expected to participate in the contest at Members Equity Stadium, pencilled in for February 14.

Anasta, Mason, Mitchell Pearce and Craig Fitzgibbon are Roosters representatives from this year’s NSW state of origin squad who are on the club’s roster for next year, with Matt Cooper and Ben Hornby enjoying the same status with the Dragons.

Some equally big names in St George’s Wayne Bennett and the Roosters’ Brad Fittler will occupy the coaching boxes. Both have agreed to head a coaching and leadership forum for representatives of all sports in Perth before game day.

The WA Reds will take on Jim Beam Cup grand finalists the Sydney Bulls in the curtain-raiser to an event expected to draw more than 12,000 spectators. If so, the WA Rugby League has an option to promote a similar fixture in 2010 and 2011.

Manly are apparently having a trial against the London Harlequins before the world club challenge against Leeds.

Raiders Plan to Trial in QLD
By Kylie Mackey-Laws

The Canberra Raiders have set tentative dates for three trial games early next year.

They hope to field a team made up largely of fringe players against Cronulla on January 24 at Seiffert Oval.

They will then embark on a two-week training camp in Brisbane, where they plan to play the Broncos in Redcliffe on February 21 and the Bulldogs at Meakin Park on February 28.

Incoming assistant coach Ian Millward said the trials would present an exciting time.

"Getting to see the players first hand will be great and it's going to be a real education for me at training." Millward said.

"I think the trials the club has picked are really good - Cronulla are an uncompromising team, they do the basics well so we will know where we are."

"The Broncos, well if they win against Melbourne they are in the grand final and I think the Dogs have recruited well."

Millward returned to Canberra yesterday before officially starting with the club on November 1.
