Aus 42 - Wales 4. 10 to go. I think whilst I've been listening Aus' wing 5 has scored a double. Seijka is kicking.

I hate accents. :p

It was painful to listen to, who ended up getting man of the match ?

No don't know who mom was but would be interested to know.

I think they have a fair bit of improvement in them, from reports it was a fairly scrappy game for the majority of the first half and the boys wouldnt be completely over the effects of the flight so it will be interesting to see.

Australia Wins First Game in Wales

AUSTRALIAN SECONDARY SCHOOL RUGBY LEAGUE v WALES 18 Years
Virginia Park, Caerphilly
Tuesday 23rd November 2010

AUSTRALIAN SECONDARY SCHOOL RUGBY LEAGUE 56 (H.Seijka 3, C.Redman 2, P.Carter 2, T.Moga, C. Grevsmuhl, J.Tedesco, J.Gagan tries, H.Seijka 4, A.Gadd goals) defeated Wales 4

Penalties: Wales 9,Australia 5
Completions: Australia 15/29, Wales 12/23

Scoring opened after five minutes when Wales received a penalty for a high shot, and a kick for the corner resulted in a try.Wales led 4-0.
Good ball movement from Australia led to a good try from Harry Seijka after seven minutes. His conversion made it 6-4.
Australia was then able to maintain control of possession for some time, and this led to a series of tries to Redman (12 minutes), Carter (16 minutes) and Seijka (22 minutes).Australia led 20-4 at half time.
The Australians enthusiasm and experience took its toll in the second half, and they were able to run in seven unanswered tries. Some of these were the product of clever ,skilful football, and augur well for future tour matches.

Unsure, maybe a make sure everyone gets a go sort of thing? Because Tedesco an Gagan surely didn't deserve to be dropped either, and vice captain is now on the bench and the captain was dropped completely :?

None of the players where dropped The coach is trying to make it look like everyone is getting a run...while still making sure he can say "We won every game". Sam Irwin and Cameron Cullen has only played half a game each.

On the other hand Moga, Jennings, Wighton, Seijka and Wells have been selected in the run on team for both games..... maybe they will be given a rest for the third game.

Feel sorry for the 4 wingers I don't think they would be seeing much of the ball..and standing on the wing in those conditions would be no fun.I would give them a run closer to the action for the next game.

Nofoaluma and Pickerd to Centres. Gagan to Fullback and Tedesco at 5/8.

Did all the changes happen at half time ?

Just saying get the poor wingers in out of the cold and closer to the action for the last game before the Tests.

Tedesco played 5/8 all year for St.Gregs who where successful in winning the 2010 MCS Grand Final. He was a standout for the College who had not won the MCS since 2005.

Not having a go at you mate and I understand what you are saying.
I wouldn't want to be standing out there freezing.

I think it would be a difficult job for the coach and staff trying to balance all the different aspects (winning/giving all a fair run/etc,etc) when you have 24 young men who can obviously play the game well.

In the end I just hope they come home successful and all the team is happy with the tour.

Now with the next game being cancelled it will be even more difficult to juggle the lineup.

Game 3 of the Australian Schoolboys 2010 European Tour has been deferred because of adverse weather conditions. The game against Great Britain Community Lions, was due to be played at Whitehaven Wednesday 31st November at 7.30pm GMT, but six inches of snow covering the ground make play impossible. It is unlikely that there will be a possibility for rescheduling this game. The ASSRL party are disappointed at this turn of events - the boys are having great fun in the snow, but are very keen to play football. Arrangements for Game 4, the first Test against the English Academy, are under review, for Barrow is also subject to unusually adverse weather conditions.

Game 4 of the ASSRL 2010 European Tour has had to be transferred from the original venue of Barrow because of the state of the pitch, caused by the current inclement weather. The game will now be played at Leigh Centurions Stadium, Leigh Sports Village, Leigh on Saturday 4th December, to kick off at 2.00pm GMT.

England Academy name 17-man squad for Australian Schoolboys

Friday 3rd December 10
England Academy Head Coach Dave Elliott has named his 17-man squad for the first Test against the Australian Schoolboys to be played at Leigh Sports Village on Saturday, December 4. (K.O 2:00pm)
The squad is dominated by academy players from 2010’s silverware winning sides, with 11 of the 17 players coming from Warrington Wolves and Wigan Warriors and Elliott is confident that this side will be more than a match for the tourists.
“We know the Australians are big, strong lads who’ll make things tough for us,” said Elliot. “So we’ll be going into this game expecting the same type of physical game we always get from Australia.
“But we’ve got a group of very talented players to chose from ourselves. Several of our squad have already had Super League experience and that combination of talent and experience provides us with a team capable of putting in some really good performances and getting a result.
“There is a confident mood in camp and the conditions could prove tough for the Australians so we’ll have to exploit that on the day.”
England Academy team to face Australian Schoolboy on Saturday.
1 - Matthew Russell (Wigan Warriors)
