What a smashing, it's been a while since the Australian Schoolboys actually trailed in a game at one stage by 22 points.
We did well to come back but all credit to England.

I hope nobody mentions the Ref because from what i have been told, the scoreline would have been even bigger in England's favour but for a few decisions including two disallowed tries to them.

Barlow should have had them ready for what was coming.Time to stop playing favorites It will be interesting to see what changes are made.

There are 24 players on tour and the coach has virtually played the same starting 13 for every game of the tour except for changing the wingers around. Its snowing and most players are just watching from the sidelines knowing their is no chance of them being selected in the starting team. I wonder what that does for team morale ?

Barlow didn't have them ready for the 1st Test and looks like his failed again in the 2nd Test. Can't blame the referee for this one looks like Mr Barlow has to be accountable for the squad he picked and playing favorites on his overseas holiday.

Nofalouma was the only player in the starting lineup from the first test to be sacked and he played on the wing, seems a bit strange when they were outgunned up the middle.

The ref didn't influence the result but for certain the margin of victory would have been greater but for a couple of mystifying decisions. One such was a perfectly good try to England being disallowed and in the confusion Australia broke up field and scored a try of their own. Take that 12 point turnaround into account and it's 40 - 16 to England which throws a completely different but more accurate light on how dominant England were.

england did well considering they played no warm up games, and we could probably pick another set of academy players just as strong if not stronger

And then "what if" we dropped the ball when we where going to score? 4 less and "what if "we missed the goal? 2 more to you blokes and then "what if" we all fell over? simple try to you blokes next thing you know your up by 50 total world domination.

So its alright to critique the ref to try and prove you may of won by more but not if you may have won a game that was lost to some degree except for sh*t calls because it just don't work that way hey?

Who's critiquing the ref?
I was just pointing out that the nature of the victory was far more emphatic than the final scoreline suggests.

Half of this squad didn't go close to being picked for NSW or Qld 18's this year. Most of the better kids are now playing 20's and didn't even bother trialling for Schoolboys or weren't allowed to trial by the rugby schools they attend. Oz Schoolboys is irrelevant, an U/19 OzTeam should be picked each year from the NSW v Qld series in which the boys are picked from a season of SGBall or part season of 20's, these guys have been the best players week in week out. Picking an Oz team from a week long Schoolboys Tournament is a thing of the past that is being held together from a bunch of old school teachers who want to go on a European Holiday every couple of years. The England Academy team is NOT a schoolboys team.

You cant be serious! The NSW 18s team was far from perfect where was Paul Carter? Best lock in competition, Australian schoolboys captain and player of the series. Both Eisenhuth and Clacherty played for NSW but weren't good enough to make Australian Schoolboys team.

Yes some chose not to trial. Most is a massive exageration, Blair and Miller most notably but both made last year Oz team so that box ticked and moved on. Nofoaluma, Gagan, McCallum, Burr, Groat made both teams. With the exception of Loko no one else would make the Oz Schoolboys squad from NSW team as quite a few have left school.

So picking a team from the NSW v QLD game is the answer. How about those Affiliated states or ACT players that might be up to it?? Hodge 2009, Wighton 2010??

Interested to know how many of those most you have suggested didnt have a shot at oz schoolboys. "Most" attempted and have either been selected eg. Miller, Blair, Stockwell or tried and weren't successful eg Loko (2009).

The system works it gives all an opportunity no matter which state they come from. If they are good enough they can make the team. If they aren't they wont. Picking boys from half SG Ball comps and half in 20s is obviously flawed considering we arent seeing like for like across two competitons. Who outside of Loko (who hasnt previously made it) should have made schoolboys from NSW team?

Pick a true U/19 team from Qld v NSW and pick the emerging state kids from Ball and 20's comps. Same as how a Kangaroo team is picked, NSWvQld the rest from NRL comp. There is too much cred given to Oz Schoolboys when "many" , are NOT the best players in their respective positions and many kids choose not to, or are not allowed or discouraged to trial by their clubs or schools.
