Germany would have to be favourites to win this. They've pounded Argentina and England while Spain have struggled to beat Portugal and Paraguay. I hope Spain do sub Torres; if Spain start like they have in their lead up matches, it could get ugly.

The octopus has picked Spain.

It's all over for Germany.

All Euro final either way.

The Schweinsteiger-Khedira combination is one of the things I've enjoyed seeing most from this World Cup. Will be interesting to see how they fair against the Spanish midfield.

My soccer loving Chilean mate, (who is quite distressed about no SA team left) believes Spain will win.

He reckons the only time the Germans had pressure put on them was against the Serbs and they folded like a pack of cards, reckons the Spainish midfield will use the same tactics.

I have no idea what he is talking about, scorelines suggest the Germans go all right.

Spain do not give possession away as cheaply as England and their tactically much better than Argentina. I can't see the Germans wiping the floor with them at all, it will be a tight match and if Spain can keep the ball and keep a tight defence then they have the attack to expose the German defence which has looked shaky at times. The Germans of course should've conceded 2 goals in 5 mins v England but for a monumental refereeing blunder. The Germans have been the form team of the tournament and would not begrudge them going through, but I'll still stick with Spain as they were my original tip to make it to the final v Holland before the cup started.

The strange thing is that before the competition started I'm sure most expected Spain to be the free flowing attacking team tearing teams apart and Germany to be the fairly boring team grinding their way through the competition. In reality it's the opposite, I've been very disappointed with Spain while Germany have astonished me.

Schweinsteiger has been the player of the tournament so far, he's gone from being a good winger to being one of the most complete central midfielders in the world. But it's going to be interesting to see how he (and Khedira) goes up against Xavi and the others in the Spanish midfield.

Never thought I would say this, but I'm hoping Germany win this match and the tournament. They deserve it for how they've played so far.

the fascinating thing about this is tha Spain will hold the ball much better and be much more patient than either england or argentina which may reduce how many of those great german couter attacking movements we'll see.

I heard the Spanish coach say the same thing today, Germany have scored first in every game except against Serbia. After watching Brazil fall apart when they went behind I can see Germany doing the same thing. i still think Germany are the team to beat though.

Geeze, the first I've heard Germany fell apart after going behind against Serbia.

One man down, ad they still had the better of the play and probably should have got a point except Lukas Podolski was soooooo wasteful. If you look at the stats here,
http://soccernet.espn.go.com/report?id=264051&cc=3436&ver=global

they had more shots and 7 corners to 1. They were the better side. easily imo.

There is the possibility though, they could be bossed in the midfield. They've a young side and Schweinsteiger is still learning in that holding midfielder role. It will be this game more than any that they'll miss the presence of Michael Ballack.

Spain also have the attacking players to expose the Germans dodgy centre backs.

Deserved win for Spain, I think Germany will probably be disappointed that their best efforts came in the previous matches.

Disappointed with Germany tbh. Honestly I think the Paraguay game was a harder one for Spain than this.

This game was so awesome. Who else would step up for Spain other than Puyol? Deadset, that guy is a magician of the highest order!

Barca players have scored all the goals for Spain in this tournament.
Alot of people talk about Kaka, Lampard, Gerrard, Essien, etc but to me Iniesta is the best midfielder in the world. Spain will be a force to be reckoned with as long as La Masia is churning out talent after talent
