What is our strongest team for 2011? I was thinking something like this:

1. Gards
2. Best
3. Collis
4. Pom
5. Williams/Ike
6. Graham
7. T. Smith
8. Snowy
9. Morris
10. Dougie
11. Toops
12. Gal
13. J. Smith
Bench
14. Aiton
15. Cordoba
16. B. Wright
17. Vave

Im sure reefy will come up with a better team :sarcasm:

Surely Gallen would stay at lock? He's better up the middle third than he has been out wide imo, like Gould eluded to last night he's pretty much just another prop.

Have to agree with RWB, Gal gets in the way when running out wide leaving no room for the wider men and tends to overplay his hand way too much trying to be a ball player. Let him bash it straight up the middle and give the bloke a bit of bench time aswell he is a far better and fresher player when given a rest throughout the game. Even if its only a few minutes, same goes for Toops.

Ike, I know a lot of people on here have huge boners for this guy but Ide prefer not to see him in the team at all, yes he is fast but other than that he has nothing especially defensively.

Besty is a far better centre than a lot of people give him credit for, ide have him in there over Pom and Collis every day of the week.

I think Pomm with a bit of time in the pigs will be a devistating runner. Runs over a lot of tacklers and hits like a train too. just needs people either side of him talking to keep him in position. Has a few mistakes in him but if injected in short bursts into the game possibly to rest Gal, he could be good.

Surely theres a better prospect than B. Wright??? what about that young prop we signed? or is he still quite young?

Looking forward to watching the J Smith and Gallen Combo.

Like both JC's and Reefy's teams. Best in the centres and Pom on the bench is a no brainer. I hope Kelly gets a crack at 7. Wing spots are up for grabs.

I like that team as well but I am just not sure Mills and Tongia will be ready for NRL standard at round 1, personally I dont think they will.

Id also put Gallen in the second row. As great as he is I think he actually harms the team with too much involvement. Tim Sheens and the Australian halves controlled him well at lock and didnt let him get over involved but our coach and halves cant. Id rein him in a bit and put him in the second row. A guy like Collis has to get more ball and Gallen hinders this.

Id go with

Gards
Best
Pom
Collis
Gordon
Graham
Kelly
Douglas
Aiton
Snowden
Tupou
Gallen
Smith

Vaves
Mannah
Morris
Grubb

Just on this I think its a must pomm starts off the bench. If we get an injury to an outside back he can just slot in there, otherwise have him coming on for toops or j Smith.

We all remember what happened when cov did his knee....we had a hooker playing on the wing for 70 odd minutes

Ausguy he is doing the pre season according the website. Also I love how we are putting so much hope in a toyota cup player who is coming off two season ending injuries which included only 15 minutes in 2010 pre season. I wonder how many people on here have actually seen him play(more than that 15 minutes).

Not knocking him but gee our fan base knows how to over hype and put pressure on young kids. Hope he does live up to it but far out...

Personally I thought he was pretty average in the games I seen him play in NYC but I was shot down because the argument for him was his age. If he is still a similar player to then, he won't be our savior.

Apparently he was looking pretty good in the trial last year, until he did his knee, I guess we all hope for the next ET.
