Well I for one hope one of the outside backs makes it impossible for Flanagan to leave them out.

Mills and Tongia certainly have a lot of power and speed in them.

Lets hope they are ripping and tearing in the trials.

Actually i forgot about Taulima in my team. Him & Pomm will be fighting for the same bench spot possibly. he will build from last year & IMO will become a very good player.

I want to see TT again this year , he hits hard and has had his 'dropsy ' year so now its time to play. I want Millsy and TT in the centers and Lutele and Williams on the wings . Halves , well I want Nathan Gardener there , he is dynamic and fast . Gardener also has the ability to withstand a fair bit of punishment. Wade Graham and Jeremy Smith are fantastic buys for us . If coach Flanagan had anything to do with it then he has shown real skill to get them. Time now for Pom to go to lock and Gall to go to the second row permanently but he has to be given time on the bench .We have an awsome pack of forwards so I have no worries there.
I have a bit of a soft spot for Tim Smith and I would love to see him have the stella season he deserves but the backline needs to be totaly rebuilt.

Carina, Disagree about TT. He is very sluggish in attack and one dimensional in his runs. If anyone steps him when he's defending they are through! Very poor sideways movement!!

I do think that TT, showed a fair bit of potential in the 2nd row this season, given he hasnt trained for it, I reckon with an offseason under the belt he could be a real asset.

Carina was talking about TT playing in the centre's.

Like the idea of Gards at half.

Yeah Gards would make a quality 5/8th I reckon (have read he use to play at 6 when he was younger)

The problem is, if he is moved who gets pushed to 1?

Stapo = Average
AK = If only he could catch! (would be better keeping Gards at 1, and using Kelly at 6 than this option)
Mills = Not ready either in experience or his leg
Tongia = Anyone that saw his' four nations display wouldnt want him at fullback
Gordon = This might be the only solution???
Best = Just thought I would chuck in a smoky. This also clears the way for Pommeroy back to left centre, which despite people not wanting to admit it he had a decent season (I still think that Best is the best of all of our centres though), really I dont want Pomm in the centres anyway, he cant pass, and gets found out savagely in defense

I agree with alot that you say, and would like to try out a Gards/Graham combo, for team guidance - at least in the trials
Good question on fullback, though with this happenning!
With an off season of training in that position, Best could do well for us there, though doubt that this would eventuate, after his comments on Fox re playing fullback for Hull vs London Broncos in the ESL:roll:
As you said- maybe Issac!?

Why take a player who was our shinning light and play him out of position in his second year of first grade... in a position he has barely played in juniors.
Dont fix it if it isn't broken. Especially when there is no replacement
Gardner will and must stay at fullback

I think gards would make a great 6 but fact is he is the only player at our club that can run through a gap....why would you want to stop that?

Id rather gards popping up everywhere like he does rather then trying to set up someone who catches the ball and goes down(i.e pomm and TT)

I would like to see Gardener at 7 not 6 . Graham will go well at 6 . Gardener is a natural attacking player , not a robot and I belive he is wasted at FB . Gardener in the attacking line would be able to ask lots of questions of the defenders over the 80 min. Ok having said all that , he is probably not ready this year to take that role ( think Locky) but I would like to see him given some time ( I dont know how this could be done tho) in the pre season . We have to make a FB , there are none we can buy so it must be junior or a top 25 player .
Stapler, love him as a player but too small .
Best , center or wing, only.
lutele, could be good , but inexperience could kill him and he is a good prospect for the wing.
Tongia , would be a good way to get him into the squad at FB .
We cannot put Tim there as he dosent like being tackled. Why cant we be looking at QLD players , jeez there are some good ones going around in their Cup sides?
Thinking ahead though , how much are we missing Weirdo these days? He could lock up his center position with great defence or play in the second row . Thats why I want to see TT there , he hits hard but I agree his lateral movement mut be improved. Pom has to go to the second row , he has had a pretty good season but he has lost pace and new guys like Mills and Tongia need to be brought on. Love the off season eh, its like fantasy football!

Exactly.

Gards will be our fullback for a long time to come. I think with grooming and direction in 4-5 years he could be a new billy slater.

Whilst that is good, coming 2nd is what we are good at.
I'd prefer he turn into the new Darren Lockyer. & he is amply good enough to do that with the protection our forwards can give him, a la the human chin.
Gards can play & his passing game is far superior to Slaters.

I like the sounds of this, just need to find a good fullback. Unfortunately I dont see it happening, but would be good to see how he went in the 6 or 7. I reckon he would shred teams Benji style.
