Haddin
Watson
Ponting
Clarke
White
Hussey
Christian
Lee
Johnson
Bollinger
Doherty

Paine/Wade (if haddin was to be injured I'd open with Clarke or Hussey, Paine is absolute tripe opening in one dayers)
Hauritz
Fergusson
Tait

I guess. I'd take Hodge infront of Ferg but thats just not going to happen I dont think. Not particularly sold on Tait either but there arent many bowling options, Siddle and Hilf are rubbish in one day cricket, unfortunately McKay injured. Middle order a bit flexible depending on the situation of the game.

It would be like punting on Starc, hes probably going to be ready for the WC but there is no way you can be sure.

Smith can play as the frontline spinner in ODIs, gives us a longer batting lineup too.

1. Watson
2. Haddin
3. Ponting
4. Clarke
5. White
6. Hussey
7. Christian (ahead of Hopes and Hastings on form)
8. Smith
9. McKay (best line and length ODI bowler we have by some margin)
10. Lee OR Tait (would not take both IMO)
11. Bollinger

12. Doherty (can replace Christian or Smith with him if a specialist spinner is needed)
13. Johnson
14. Marsh/Warner/Hodge (flexible aggressive top order batsman)
15. Paine

Pretty good squad. Not sure Doherty has had a great chance after showing something in earlier games.

Do feel for Hodge a touch. I guess though that the openers, Ponting, White and M Hussey are all capable of scoring big 100s which is a massive thing in ODI's.

Probably Clarke and D Hussey will be the keys. They are probably the weak links in form. If they contribute and the others play to form we will be very very strong.

I would have picked Christian. I think we lack an impact hitter in the lower order. Maybe they feel Smith has Christian's spot at the moment and they can;t both play. Smith probably being picked for his bowling at present and potential with the bat rather than form. Gun fielder though which is badly needed.

Would have taken Christian over Dussey, he is essentially going to be playing at 6 or 7 and Christian is the better pick on that front. If needed I'm sure he could move up the order as well.

No he doesnt

Anyway, hopefully we give Dussey a run at 5 whilst Mussey is injured, see if he can fill that role should Mike not be fit in time.

Also, bit anoyed smith was chosen, would prefer him playing state cricket to be honest, dont think he's in our best XI, although his bowling is decent in this form of the game.

Probably go

Haddin
Watson
Ponting
Clarke
White
Mussey
Dussey
Hauritz/Hastings
Lee
Johnson
Tait

Bollinger
Hauritz/Hastings
Smith
Paine

Although wouldnt mind only Lee and one of Johnson/Tait with Hastings + spin, all three of the express pace bowlers could go wrong, especially if Tait and JOhnson bowl as rubbish as they are capable
