Smith got a few wickets at the right time on Sunday, probably helped his cause.

I cant see Warner fitting in, lucky to fit into NSW ODI team, more of a T/20 player

I'm glad Hauritz is back.
Bollinger over Siddle is the right call but I'm surprised the selectors went that way.
Hastings is a bit perplexing.

Watson
Haddin
Ponting
Clarke
White
M. Hussey
Smith
Hauritz
Lee
Johnson
Bollinger

So where the f**k do they stand on Hauritz?! Selectors running around like headless chooks...

http://www.espncricinfo.com/icc-cricket-world-cup-2011/content/current/story/497212.html

Nathan Hauritz is the sole recognised spinner but Steven Smith and David Hussey will also be relied on to deliver regular overs. "Nathan is our preferred spin option and his one-day record in India is excellent," Hilditch said. Hauritz has played seven 50-over games in the country, taking four wickets at 70.75. Hilditch's panel did not pick Hauritz during the entire Ashes campaign but now he expects the offspinner to "be an important part of our bid for this fourth World Cup".

I can understand the player's being confused. The reasoning is just strange about his one day record in India being excellent... yet his average there is 70.75 per wicket. In their defence, his run rate is only about 4.55 or so over there. I just think with the spinners in particular over the past 18-24 months, Hilditch has done his level best to confuse the hell out of all them and he has been a part of the reason why a few of them are basically on the wildnerness scrapheap.

Maybe Hauritz was told prior to first ODI that he was in ODI squad and selectors wanted a last look at Doherty before finalising the squad.

Can't believe they picked Hastings over Christian.. Dussey is in the side on the back of his useful spin bowling. Ferguson will replace Hussey if he isn't fit.

Haha love that Hilditch. Sooner hes out the door the better then he can get a career giving comments like the one above.

Why in the hell isn't Hastings playing against the Poms??? FMD these cretins have no idea. And still can't believe Christian and Ferguson have missed out. This side has no chance at all. All this Fapping over Dussey's bowling is remarkable. The guy bowls fastish nude Nuts, he's not going to trouble anyone from the Sub Contient.

It's f**king ridiculous is what it is. How the f**k could they stick with Hauritz that long, end his career on the eve of the Ashes to be replaced by some one day pie chucker and whoever the f**k that other guys was... then f**king recall him after the f**king Ashes are f**king over

Who's running this circus, Hilditch or Chappel?

Just heard Marsh will be Hussey's replacement in the squad to play England and the World Cup.... What has Ferguson done wrong??? He is by far a more valuable ODI batsmen than Marsh IMO.

So we drop Hauritz from tests for a a spinner who is basically a one day specialist, and when the one dayers come around we pick Hauritz over him. f**k me these selectors are a bunch of mongs. Make the NSW SOO selectors look decent.

Ferguson and Hodge both miss out to the sh*t Hussey and Christian who could potentially be a game breaker late in the innings misses out to Hastings. Hopefully Watson can pump out regular 150s because otherwise we could be in a spot of bother.

WTF is going on. Ferguson is a ready made replacement for him. Are we now moving Haddin or is Marsh playing 6? Admittedly he had his best game playing down the order but wtf has Ferguson done wrong.

Disagree, Marsh is in the better form, and can open if needed. Could be used to give Watson a break in the tournament.
