Just about to return to Sydney after an extra long weekend in Melbourne and I can tell you AFL is the tel winner this year!
Its not about media induced interest here- this city lives and breathes their footy.From the parade down the min street to small bars in Collingwood,everyone is talking AFL.As a Sydneysider I didn't really get it either until I came here for their biggest weekend of the year.its not media induced but game built.
And the atmosphere inside the MCG with 99000 ppl screaming as the gme goes back and forward as the clock keeps ticking on- im afraid the NRL can't match that( and certainly didn't this year)
From one happy Swans fan to the non believers...get that into you!
