Surely, it must be frustrating for followers of NSW Cup teams to have to see their Grand Final played as a curtain raiser to other games and have to pay the NRL price to see their team play.

The Queensland Cup Grand Final is a great day at $20 ticket, fabulous atmosphere with the focus being on the Queensland Cup teams. Sydney would have any number of suitably sized venues to hold it at.

There is a huge difference between the current Qld Cup and NSW Cup teams

In Qld Cup you will have maybe 1 or 2 players of NRL experiance in the squad, with only 3 NRL clubs against 12 Qld Cup teams the NRL club does not have much influence. And looks more like a 2nd division

In NSW however - EVERY NSW Cup team is a feeder of a NSW/VIC or NZ based NRL club with at times up to 8 players of the NRL squad playing, plus the occasional U20's player

The NSW Cup today is still really a NSW based Reserve Grade, where half of the teams wear different jersies. As it always was historically

With the Bundy Cup being the 2nd division of NSW (ie the old Metro Cup)

You could very easily rebadge the current NSW Cup as the NRL Resreve Grade minus Qld teams with very little impact
