Half time in the first game at Leichhardt Oval, Wenty lead Balmain 16-10.

Full time. Balmain def Wenty 29-20. Balmain play Newcastle next week.

The ref gave a penalty in golden point. That's a first. Should happen more often. No video refs and the refs were great. The players seem to accept the decisions, no arguing, really weird! Surley there's a lesson here.

Agreed, surely putting aside 500/1000 tickets for the NSW Cup sides wouldn't be too hard?

7 v 8 would have to be a first? Didn't see the Balmain/Wenty game but surely the Jets would have to be favourites?

Jets would be favourites no doubt.

It is a good match up though. With no NRL players and a early send off Balmain kept in touch last meeting.

The tigers ruck defence has been great this year and Nefe got all the Jets play rolling through the Dogs ruck.

Grand Final day is a toss up

I'm surprised that the teams playing in the GF finished the regular season in 7th and 8th. A first?

Yeah a first but not that massive an upset as only 5 points separated the top 8 after 26 rounds and it was pretty much been a coin flip all season whenever any of the top 12 met each other.

Congratulations to Newtown on a convincing win yesterday at Leichardt Oval in front of arguably the biggest NSW Cup crowd of the season.

Congratulations must also go to the NSWRL for the success of yesterdays event with approximately 5000 fans in attendance. Hopefully continued promotion of the NSW Cup throughout 2012/2013 results in a larger profile and greater media representation etc... which should ensure continued crowd growth!
The quality of yesterdays event was first class and surely wouldnt have looked out of place being broadcast on 9.

NSW Cup is the best kept secret. There were lots of people at the two matches yesterday but only 60 to 100 at regular comp matches excluding Henson Park where 8 387 attend every Newtown home game. NSW Cup is not as fast as NRL matches therefore the players have more time to think, eg; Daniel Mortimer. The players seem to be allowed to be more creative. Will the new commission put NSW Cup before the first grade? My prediction for Sunday is that Newtown will steam roll Balmain in the backs. The forwards look evenly matched but Balmain are small in the back line.

They are allocated to families at this stage mate.

NRL.com still have not sent out my access code for the NRL.com presale either which is worrying.
