I think if your young forwards can perform well then you guys should be sweet, the only question mark i have is over your 5/8 and your backline....

symonds seems to have been forgotten here. He's a seriuos talent this kid. Just needs a shot of confidence.

FPN wil wear the 13. Locks paly in the middle and are like another front tower these days. 2nd rowers (back rowers) play wide like a centre so Mitch Aubs won't be wearing the 13.

We'll make the 8 without a shadow of a doubt.

Id leave FPN out purely because he's a meathead good for atleast 2-3 penalties a game. I was hoping the club would release him and go with the likes of Cordner, Arona etc...especially given the ridiculous depth we have in the backrow.

Had a dream (nightmare) last night that we let the Dragons buy Friend while we signed FPN to a long term contract. Woke up sweating...

From reading nospam13 it seems that Smith has already settled on our front row. JWH will be up front and FPN will be at lock.

As an Eel supporter of 55 plus yrs I would like to wish Daniel Mortimer the very best of seasons. In my opinion he will be another great player that we've let slip through our fingers. Clubs ask their players to be respectful but in this case they certainly did not repay that courtesy.. Goodluch Daniel.................

JWH would start I assume but jeez I'd love to see him playing wider. He does alright up front but he could be more explosive in the back row.

Disagree with assessment on Daniel Mortimer, though happy to be proven wrong. I believed he was overrated as a rookie and has regressed since then.

As for JWH, I absolutely HATE (strong word!) him playing prop and being used as a battering ram. Play him wide running off half or five-eight in an obvious mismatch against our opponent. JWH can be a devastating attacking option for us if used correctly. Smith's alleged plan I don't agree with. It will be reasonably effective, the guys is a beast, though we can extract more value playing him similar to a Thaiday, Pritchard etc. A combo of both would be ideal though primarily, have him running wide and watch the line breaks pile up with and improvement in his off load.

Big season or two ahead for our forwards. If a few of them don't consolidate their spots or break into the top 17, then they are going to be struggling for a contract. Pretty exciting actually.

Takarangi > FPN/Mitchell IMO, looks a better player, versatile, not giving away stupid penalties (that I've seen), and Friend is ok to go 80 minutes.

QFT but JWH has more of that Tallis mongrel than the other two.

He'll realise this at another club unfortunately
