We have been linked with Cross - and the powers that be didnt say "we are finished in the player market" which is what they usually say.

Would love to see Meaney given a real go at fullback.

Against the Cowboys he showed he has pace which we lack plus great under the high ball and a genuine leader.

I think most of us agree what the team should look like, only time (and Sheens) will tell. My team is;

1 - Meaney (shows enough potential to warrant a chance)
2 - Tiquiri (picks himself)
3 - Lawrence (picks himself)
4 - Ayshford (developing OK)
5 - Brown (pretty solid)
6 - Marshall (what can you say)
7 - Miller (I think our future)
8 - Galloway (picks himself)
9 - Farah (picks himself)
10 - Bell (lets see how good he is, he has experience)
11 - Dwyer (reserve back and reshuffle if necessary)
12 - Ellis (simply the best)
13 - Blair (I think his best position for us)

14 - Woods (Will need to continue to develop but is still young)
15 - Murdoch-Masila (Time will tell but seems OK)
16 - Groat (Shows great potential)
17 - Heighington (pretty rock solid and always trying and deserves a go)

I like a bench rotation where we can put on a few genuine props, not hybrid props.

Does that mean you don't rate any of the new signings, except Blair?
You don't have a back on the bench, what's your thought/plan if we get an injury in the backs on game day?

Fulton can play in the centres, and he went reasonably well at Huddersfield when playing at five-eighth.

If Fullback is injured, shift Brown to Fullback, Fulton to centre, Lawrence/Aysfhord to wing
If a winger is injured, Fulton to centre, Lawrence/Aysfhord to wing
If a half is injured, Fulton to five-eighth, other half to halfback

I don't see that Bell offers anything more than Woods, Murdoch or Groat

Reddy imo isn't better than the 5 backs I listed.

I think Groat will only see cameo roles next season.

Sheens has always rabbited on about young props struggling with the weekly grind and his availability for NYC and the probable captaincy heading his way after Begovich is too old means I think he and Neil may rotate for a bench spot as will Woods

I get the feeling Sheens is going to embrace the St George model in 2012. Have Benji and Robbie as the two play makers and fill the team with strong experienced defensive players and try and win the arm wrestle. Keep it very simple and than use the magic at back end of matches.

Good in principle, but will we have enough class to match a team like Manly. Be handy if their is another top class signing but unless a couple more leave I feel that will be it

I am not saying he isn't good enough but I think it's time to say give up on meaney getting picked as first choice full back. Brown would be lucky to get the gig and he is ahead of meaney

He may be better than Slater, Dugan and Boyd combined x 50 but not one club rates Meaney so we wont be seeing him regularly in the NRL anytime soon. Think of all the injuries this year. Hasnt led to much game time for him. If he couldnt get a run this year, he wont get one next year.
