So Benzema, Bale and Ronaldo all score doubles in this sequential order...

Benzema Bale Ronaldo Benzema Bale Ronaldo!

Be that as it may, it looks like there will be the same number of CL quarter finalists from Germany as there will be from England.

You don't agree with BM's lunacy that Serie A is better and Ligue 1 only slightly worse, do you?

A league is more than its top team.

Serie A has gone down the pan and Ligue 1 has two rich teams and a load of rubbish.
Germany is the third best league, just miles behind the top two.

Agree.

Disagree. It looks like for the second consecutive season the BL (and La Liga) will have a greater representation in the last 8 than the PL.

The PL is the best marketed league in the world but on the pitch it's in a rut compared to its main rivals (something that will of course change with LFC's return next season ;-)). You certainly couldn't position in at #1 currently.

EPL teams are 0-6 down in the knock out   mighty, mighty EPL

Then the Madrid game kicked off and another TT fail was born...

Harsh words from Spider at halftime...

"I have actually enjoyed watching paint dry more than I watched that first half. Manchester United - I have never ever seen a Manchester United team approach a match so cowardly as they did this morning"

We were 100% sh*te.

The tactics didn't help and if anyone is interested i will explain why and it is something Moyes needs to change asap.

The players were atrocious.
They were incapable of passing to a player, looking in anyway bothered, moving at anything more than snails place, staying in the place they were supposed to, tackling, doing throw ins to their teammates and changing anything if it wasn't working.

Absolute shower. You may be getting the vide, but it p*ssed me off a bit.

We don't need a major overhaul of the squad, just one or two positions and a few of them players to never play for United again and we are set.

5 serie A teams would finish 2nd in the Bundesliga.

3 La Liga teams would finish 2nd in the Bundesliga.

7 Premier League teams would finish 2nd in the Bundesliga.

Leagues need a depth of quality to be great. It's not just about what they have right at the top.

Look at the carnage that is Schalke from this morning.

That is fair enough but the Bundesliga has one great team.
After the that the quality drops. Bayer are rubbish, Shalke are rubbish, Dortmund were great but cannot keep any of their players. After that you have a massive amount of nothing.

Fulham (Bottom of the Prem league) have Holtby and Dejagh (sp?) playing for them. That is the quality that runs through the league. Holtby would walk into any team except Bayern and Dejagh won the Bundesliga the other year. These players would not be going back to Germany to play for relegation fodder in Germany.

Due to the recent tv deal and the way it is split in the prem the lower teams can go out and buy from the better teams in other leagues. That is why it is the best. The ability of the lower teams is so much better.

If you put team number two from the Prem into Germany, where do you think they would finish? If you put team two from Germany into the Prem, where do you think they would finish?

How many players who don't play for Bayern would you want Liverpool to sign in the summer from the Bundesliga?

The Bundesliga is a very entertaining league. Bayern are clearly the best team in the world and BvB are also world class.

But outside of those two the quality of the league is abhorrent as evidenced by the 1-10 combined home score AGAINST by its next two best teams lol

Rubbish. Juve would finish 2nd or 3rd and that's it.

3 La Liga teams would finish 2nd in the Bundesliga.
BVB would be above Atleti.

7 Premier League teams would finish 2nd in the Bundesliga.
If you merged both leagues it'd probably go Bayern, Chelsea, Arsenal, City, Liverpool, BVB, Leverkusen, Schalke, Spurs, Everton, manure...

You can do it both ways:
Hamburg - currently second-last with Van der Vaart who came from a Top 5 PL club.
Freiburg - stone cold last in 2012 when a certain Papiss Cisse was signed who ended up scoring 13 goals in the second half of the PL season.
Betis (I know it's Spain, point still stands) - last currently by a country mile and have their coach snapped up by a mid-table PL club.

How many players who don't play for Bayern would you want Liverpool to sign in the summer from the Bundesliga?
We're looking at Mikhitaryan. And your lot is looking at Herrmann from the team currently 5th apparently.

Bayern are the team to beat, but on current form BM and RM would be a good game to watch

I don't think Bayern could handle the dual threat of Bale and a career best Ronaldo.

They also have Ancelotti who is a brilliant coach that also has the team onside unlike Jose.

I actually think they can handle it... I mean they've handled a Barca team fulll of their stars on 2 separate occasions.

Different styles ... Real are more direct and about pace and counter attacking.

Also Bayern are not as solid defensively this year. Real would have put 4 past them in that first half performance vs Arsenal.

Over two legs I'd back Real but in a final it's 50/50.
