I've heard Humble was released for salary cap reasons. Which brings a couple of questions and/or observations.
a/ how can a player whose contract ended at 2012 be considered 'released' for salary cap reasons? As far as I know he didnt have an option for a further year.
b/ if they're releasing players for salary cap reasons surely they must consider value to the club. How does Reddy escape the axe? Also, I presume that is the reason Ayshford has been granted permission to try to find a new home.
c/ it seems the salary cap is inplay and in that instance we really have to question to use of so much space ($500k p.a) in signing Blair. He is a second rower / part time prop. That is not a spine position and to waste so much of your salary $$$ on an non essential position is madness. Who made the decision and who ok'ed it. Obviously Sheens and Humphreys.
d/ it seems the new incoming coach will have most of the decisions fo rhsi 2013 playing roster already made for him by Sheens and Humphreys, unless the coaching successor has aleady been deicded and is being consulted behind closed doors.
e/ finally after the grand final, Miller's stocks must have risen and Anasta must go to utility bench role or backrow.
As an aside with the good showing WT put in in both lower grades I think if WT are cash strapped, Fletcher could be in a good position for the opening, with Sheens kicked upstairs to coaching director, (I dont see Sheens getting the Warriors job now)
