If only the NRL can get clubs to wean off those horrible looking sleeve sponsors that just ruin a potentially good jersey.

Agree, though at least most sleeve sponsors aren't as bad as some of the lower back sponsors. Often in a complete different colour to the rest of the jersey. That saints jersey would look alright with a clean white back, instead they will stick an ugly black box all over it.

Whoever decided to approve the manufacturers sponsors for the shoulders a few years back should be shot. Fighting a losing battle here I know. Little wonder so many kids are wearing yankee sports jerseys around though.

I'm happy with the Pink Panther jersey being our permanent away jersey. It will set us apart from the other teams and the jersey looks pretty good IMO. It also cuts out a jersey... hopefully leaving us with just the 3 going forward. Main, Alternative and Heritage. Black, Pink and hopefully the 91 strip for heritage. No need for any other jerseys.

Saints spend so much banging on about the BIG RED V, yet sell out for an alternate strip when they have absolutely no clash.

Sigh.

And sure, they merged, so if Saints are that hard up for coin or an alt jersey, why not just the Illawarra jersey, shorts and sox for away?

Is it that hard?

For mine, clubs like Saints, Souths, Roosters, Manly, Parramatta and Bulldogs should be proud to wear the 'more' traditional strip - yes I know over periods of time, Saints and Dogs wore the bandages, and they are fine alt strips too IMO. But come on. Why do they mess about all the time. The manufacturers probably are to blame, but again, come on.

Cronulla's traditional strip is a winner too, good to see they're back to it.

Love Newcastle's vertical stripes too.

Melbourne, Brisbane, Titans...meh. Canberra...f**k off that dinky V thing. You're 'the Green Machine'.

Gold Coast should be made to change their colours AND their logo.

As for Panthers, Warriors, Cowboys...they've all had more strips than I've had hot breakfasts. They can do what they what. I actually like the Panthers ones for 2014, so would be nice if they stuck with 'em for a bit. And the Warriors were on to a winner with the black and white, but then they added the red (and my 2 and 4 year olds - when looking at footy cards or the TV - think they are Easts when they wear the predominately white strip).

I like clean hoops or Vs.

And I will be howled down because the clubs 'need' the cash supposedly, but FMD, when is enough enough with these sponsors. It's gone beyond a joke.

In fact, I want the NRL to hire GAZF too. Better design than all the bloody jersey makers combined.

Actually "that dinky V thing" and the blue, yellow and white have more of a right to be on a jersey that represents a Canberra team then the lime green.

The only reason that the lime green was ever incorporated into our colour scheme is because we didn't want to clash with Parramatta and to a lesser extent Newtown, so we went through Canberra's RL history and found a distinct colour of significance which was Hall's (the first RL team in the ACT) lime green.

Though these days lime green is a huge part of Canberra's identity at the time making it the main colour for a team that represents the area was for the most part considered a very out there idea.

As I say we are fighting a losing battle here when talking about sponsors but every professional comp in the world at least has some minor restrictions on jersey sponsorship, except it would seem the NRL.

NZ has messed with their colors so much. Their best jersey was the original blue. Manly need to go back to the hoops.

I really like these new cowboys jerseys, they're probably the best ones that they have had in a very long time.

Wait til you see them in real life, they are utterly atrocious.

The response on FB from the fans was about 80% negative to 20% positive. I don't think these will be a big seller tbh.

That black one is again defined as "alternate" - imagine it'll be worn one-off like this year.
