Noticed Latrell Mitchell from central coast centurions HM U/16s and Shaq Mitchell from Central Coast SG U/18s from 2013, both boys originally from Taree i think. Also Bobby Treacy and Tom Madden from West Newcastle. Bobby is the son of former Knight and dragons froward Darren Treacy, has been constantly overlooked by Knights recruiters. Tom and Shaq were both in a Knights Hunter Academy squad at the start of this year.

I have noticed Connor Watson from the central coast centurions Matt side from 2 yrs ago in the Sth and rooster trian on squads he was sign to the Central coast and the Knights signed him as well ARU signed him as well. How does he do it he must have good manager Orr he is an exception player that hasn't played league for anyone.

Im hearing you buddy. Funny thing is Newcastle and Central Coast both have plenty of local talent. The Knights have probably now declared the coast to be their patch and smart move by them for picking the Coasts cream now before anyone else has a chance to snatch them. They also want the best teams possible and you can?t blame them for that. Looks like about 10 Central coast kids maybe for this year?s Harold Matts summer squad alone!

However I think people would love to see the best Central Coast and Newcastle kid?s stay in the Centurion?s and Knights development systems until after SG Ball finishes, then let the talent carve up / merger begin. But what the Knights are doing is purposely strengthening themselves and leaving the centurions artificially weaker and this is where the fracture is happening.

On paper the Knights HM and SG Ball teams look strong; most of these kids have earned their spot. But as I have said in previous posts yet again alarm bells are ringing and people are questioning the selections as some of the standout performers in the Hunter Valley 2013 U15, U16 and U17 comps have been overlooked by players who have a reputation for past performances, rep experience or the right last name but didn?t live up to the hype in club games or the trials. I?m told the best performed front rower in the U15 comp didn?t make the HM squad because of a so called lack of experience in rep footy despite dominating all year!

I just hope that this doesn?t turn into another group of talented youngsters that were overlooked and turn elsewhere for an opportunity only for the knights to later say ?How did we let this one get away?.

Alot boys from the local area, with one kid from toongabbie, plays in the halves, 4 boys from Newcastle 3 of them apparently where told they will not be needed by the knights. I believe Tom Madden was there forward of the year in Matts in 2011, Joe Morris ((NSW CCC hooker)was considered no hope, in making the squad, but the Knights picked a kid (Daniel Bell):crazy: from the coast area who is under a scholarship with the coast, I think. Have the knights lost the plot. ;-)

From what I know I hope that does not happen, his start training and already played a game for the Coast against St Helen's . Time will tell. But so has Connor Watson (roosters and souths). Daniel Bell - these players have signed deals with multiply clubs its a farce. it's junior league. Joke , they should look at the AFL system.

Believe Easts beat the Tigers in the SG Ball trial last night, although the tigers did not play about 15 of their squad members.

Knights and Central Coast trial
#Matts - The Knights are a big stong team, it was disappointing to see 10 players from the coast on the knights squad were playing and another 4 sitting on the sidelines not playing because they are already in their squad. The Knights could be contenders this year. 8 tries to 2 knights.
#Ball - This could be a good season for both squads. #knights played well throughout as did the Coast team. Both evenly matched both teams rested players for their reasons. 7 tries to 6 Knights.
The knights should try a mend the relationship with the Central Coast but they have an agenda - to make the centurions weaker.
Time will tell.
