Lol. A bit of a difference between Bayern and Spurs.

A win would have been great but the loss could have a silver lining. All the injuries show how hard it is to deal with a crowded schedule. Just have to cross our fingers we don't come 3rd and get the bloody Europa league.

Exiting the CL early could only improve our chances at the premier league.

What happens if they lose to Spurs? 'Well this is a blessing in disguise...less games to worry about in the EPL long haul!'

Our squad is too thin to compete for 4 trophies. Getting out of the league cup has bought us 1-4 seven day breaks we wouldn't have had otherwise.

If we come last and get out of the CL we get at least an extra 2 seven day breaks and possibly more.

All that space opened up in the calendar gives us 2 advantages: 1) we'll have more energy for PL games. 2) we have less opportunities to suffer more injuries.

That could be the difference between winning and losing the premier league.

Arsenal down for the count, a reasonably in form Tottenham against them. This has Feb 2012 written all over it. The Yids'll get smashed. God I hope they don't but that does appear to be their lot in life.

It sucks that 3rd is worse than 4th.

I love laughing at United but it is not good for English football. Increases the chances that we lose the 4th spot.

Boom. Boom. Boom.

This is our league, you're just playing in it.

As for our potential opponents next round, from worst case to best case (in that order because that's from most likely to least likely knowing our luck):

Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Wolfsburg, Zenit.

3/5 beatable teams.

So was Monaco last year, how did that work out, RM, Barca and AM would wipe the floor with us, Wolfs are in form as seen by them dispatching United and Zenit Took 15 from a group with Lyon and Valencia in it....

Lyon is 5th in France and Valencia is medicore too. Zenit is mediocre. Atletico and Wolfsburg are good teams but beatable. We just dominated at Olympiakos and we beat Bayern too.

We're capable of winning a 2 leg tie against anyone in Europe except Bayern, Barca and Real.

To do our odds of winning I'd put it at:
1% Barca, 1% Real, 50% Atletico, 60% Wolfsburg, 70% Zenit

Best case scenario the big 3 of Bayern, Barca and Real knock each other out in the quarters and semis and we have only a single game against 1 of them in the final.

LOL Arsenal won't be anywhere near the final. They'll get done in the quarters with ease, likely from Barca or Madrid. They were beyond fortunate to qualify given Olympiacos failed to assert their earlier authority and progress. If only Bayern didn't flop at the Emirates eh.

On current form it's Barca's tournament to lose. They're just scary good.
