Now, let's get to Serena Williams.

Serena critisized Eugenie for the twirl, and said she wouldn't do it because she doesn't "need the attention!".

Firstly, x infinity.

Secondly, Serena doing a twirl would be the most hideous thing I've ever seen, and would want to make me gouge my eyes out.

Finally, Eugenie was ASKED to do the twirl, she didn't do it to get the attention. Eugenie can't help it if she's that hottest thing in tennis at the moment and everyone wants a piece of her. Also, Serena, whether or not she'll be the greatest female tennis player of all time, in my eyes and the eyes of those who closely follow the game, you'll know that in order to be the greatest player you'll have to have 2 qualities, firstly, be a great athlete, and secondly be a great sportsperson. Serena does not have the second. She's a sore loser, and never gracious in defeat.

I love Fed, but id rather him go out on a high, than getting beat blokes who would have no chance against him 3-4 years ago. Seppi may well get blown off the court by a 19yr old, 30 hours from now

It shows you know sweet f**k all about tennis. Roger had an awesome 2014 and a great start to 2015...he just had a bad day. He is nowhere near the same stage as Lleyton Hewitt who I'd say is as done as a dinner.

A few things I want to pick from this post.

*The US media are making total mountains out of molehills with this "Twirlgate" bullshit. It may be a bit goofy from the interviewer but no more than that. The guy was just trying to make fun. Typical US crap.

*I admit that Serena is not the nicest sportsperson on the planet.

*One thing I totally disagree with is your "2 qualities" remark. Regardless of what she does from here, Serena Williams is absolutely the greatest female tennis player to walk the Earth. She is a poor sport and will not be the most respected and revered player of all time....but my goodness, I have not seen tennis played better year in year out than from this lady...to me, no female player comes close.

Kyrgios is a cocky bastard, he better shelve it when he comes up against someone who can make him look stupid.

I disagree, I think his cockiness helps him as a player, he doesn't care who he's up against, he's going to bring it.

I do think his rise is the best thing to happen for Tomic, he's no longer the guy and he can focus on playing rather than the expectation (and has gotten himself into the 4th round). It's good to have several players who can go deep into the tournament, about 6 years ago it was Lleyton Hewitt and maybe another Aussie would get lucky and win a few games.

Best part of the Open is when the Melbourecentric commentators keep pointing out the AFL players in the crowd. They think the rest of Australia cares. AFL, the sport where 90 000 people turn up to watch two suburbs play each other.

Compared to 20k for a penrith vs parramatta game in league? Or are they no longer suburbs of outer and inner western sydney.

He had a decent 2014 by his standards, he got his Davis cup, but he just doesn't have it to get the Grand Slams anymore, which hasn't had one since 2012, he will still compete at a high level, and will win ATP events. But for probably the best tennis player in history, he no longer has anything to prove, hopefully he calls it quits after Wimbledon.

Hewitt has been done and dusted for while, he will quit next year, give everyone a chance to see him one final time in Sydney, Brissy, Adelaide and then Aus Open.

Federer is still better than 99% of players on tour. Absolutely zero reason to call it a day. He'll win another grand slam before his career is over.

No surprise there, Berdych is top 10 for a reason.

5 - 5 in the first set Nadal vs Anderson, Nadal down 0 - 40 on his service game, saves five break points then breaks Anderson the next game for the set  I'd probably just ragequit after that.

No male tennis player chokes quite like Kevin Anderson. One choke he had against Dimitrov has to be seen to be believed.

Come on Kyrgios! What an atmosphere on Hisense Arena.

Expecting a 4-5 set match. Will be tough.

Winner to play Murray or Dimitrov in Quarter Final

Tomic was crap in 1st and 3rd sets. Only played very well in 2nd set.

In 3rd set Tomic gave up at times and was lazy.

Still a good start to the year for Tomic.

Yeah he really needs to try and calm the f**k down  He was still in a good position when he was getting mad.

obviously his back is giving him trouble but if he shuts up and plays to his strengths he will make a game of this.

If he continues to carry on Seppi will rip through him in the back end of this set and the next easily.
