Wests Tigers have the most crowds under 10k out of any NRL club in the past 2 years or so,easily the worst fans in the NRL

They are being dished up the worst home grounds. Th club is responsible for those crowds. The good news is that the club can no longer ignore the figures and will have to make the move to ANZ.

Chucking it down with rain at moment, never rains in Perth EXCEPT when we get an nrl game! Fingers crossed it blows over. If we ever had a serious drought the wa govt just needs to pay for some nrl games to break it!

Problem with nrl crowds is the poor scheduling of games.

Scheduling has it problems but in the main it has been ok this year, just the fans are useless and come up with the next excuse whenever one excuse is taken away.

E.g we want more afternoon footy. Nrl say ok 3pm saturday afternoon. In response people whinge but its too close to little johnnys soccer match at 8am. Nrl say ok back to two games at 7.30pm. In response fans say but no its too late on a weekend night for the kids and also too cold and we dont want to pay admission and we dont want to for anything in fact, so make it free and we might come along but only once a year as its too much effort once a fortnight.

The problem could be that people don't are about the game as much as they once did.

OK let's delve a little deeper and yes we have had some sh*(tty crowds this year..

The record year for crowd averages was 2005 from memory .

In 2007 Monday night football became part of the scheduling.
Easter weekend 4th and 5th April 2015 rained reasonably heavily in Sydney

Monday 20th april we had cat 1 cyclone at Shark park where normally against Souths you would get a minimum of 13-14,000 .They got 4,000.A hell of a drop for one game.

They got 19,000 on a sunday arvo at shark Park with the two teams previously.
.
Then we got heavy rain 1/2/3 May weekend
Then Fri/saturday 22nd 23rd May heavy rain.

Now my understanding April month one of the heaviest on record for rainfall.May hardly full of sunshine.

Factors to consider, crap weather on a few occasions, scheduling this year not the same as last year, live TV on sunday 4pm not so last year, poor choice of venues, uncertainty with jobs ,yes some fan laziness .The Titans once had large crowds, then their development issue stuffed them and that still carries on today.

Some solutions improve infrastructure with more ground cover, more freebie deals for kids, better scheduling with the new TV deal.

Just goes to show there are some passionate RL fans left in Australia! Ticket prices, crap marketing nah can't stop a sell out crowd in Perth. Now if the nrl merkins would just give us a club!

For the record, nib stadium record for the second year in a Row!

Dan Ginnane raises a good point - have 4-5 games there with a varying number of teams (not just SOU v WAR every season).

That will give a better gauge of RL support in WA. JMO

Yep hard to prove we are ready when the dumb smuchk nrl doesn't give us the opportunity. There is no doubt it will require some thought and careful planning to turn all those Souths and warriors fans at today's game to WC Pirates fans but at least we are showing there is a huge potential if they can get it right.

Dave Smith was in today's crowd, hopefully he looks at tigers last night and Perth today and wakes up to what needs to happen for future growth of the NRL.
