THE original home of the NRL and Indigenous All Stars is in danger of never hosting the pre-season spectacle again with fears that a shocking turnout of between eight and 10,000 people will attend Friday night’s match on the Gold Coast.

There are always stars missing from charity shield. It is still is usually good for 20-25k

So many stars unavailable for so many reasons, the NRL need to decide if they want to continue with this game and if they want to be serious, it should be played during the Origin period because pre-season isn't working and end of season no player will be interested.

Makes it very hard to believe and highly unlikely that the All Stars game could only get 8-10k.

But it was always going to include only one Broncos player, the main reason the NRL made him select the side was so he could consult with coaches over who was available so as to prevent a public vote being disrespected by players pulling out with 'injury'. Failing any sudden injuries there shouldn't be too many surprises from the side he named.

If the All Stars gets under 12K, you'd have to ask is it the concept or the GC thats the problem. It is a DT article so I guess we can take it for what it is until Friday night.
