i haven't been to the easter show in years but i hear they have show bags for all of the nrl clubs. maybe an idea is to give everyone who gets a show bag, have it include a non-ticketed membership of that club.

Eels and warriors have the next best potential to be 30k member clubs. Some of the others will be lucky to get to 15k.

Definitely the Eels if they can push the non-ticketed memberships. Playing out of Parra Stadium will restrict them otherwise...

Whats wrong with Non - ticketed members? great way for people who can't make games feel a connection with their club and to feel like their contributing. The club also gets more revenue so it's a win-win situation . As someone who lives in the middle of nowhere, Northern Territory I'd definitely look into signing up for a non - ticketed membership if the deal was right.

All clubs have them already.

I know, but it seems some people have a real problem with them, that non - ticketed members aren't real members or that clubs are doing something dodgy by doing Non - ticketed members. If clubs can make money on them and stuff like pet memberships good on them

nothings wrong with it, but handing out piss cheap nonticketed memberships as part of a showbag is a farce.

whats the point of memberships if were just giving them out like candy? meaningless number

Fans feel like they are part of something bigger and that they are directly contributing to their club
Club makes more revenue
greater connection between clubs and fans

revenue? how much do you think these showbags cost???

non-ticketed usually cost around $50 all of which goes to the club. showbags are usually around 20 bucks and only a portion of that will go to the club.

they can feel part of something bigger by actually getting a membership or a non-ticketed membership. once again, handing them out like candy reduces the value and meaning of being a member along with the 'greater connection between clubs and fans'

if you gave out a non-ticketed membership with a jersey purchase that's not too bad. cause those cost $160 usually.

Sell the show bag with the non ticketed memberships, sign more people up and hopefully these cheapo memberships become full members down the road. afl makes so much money from their memberships, any step to building bigger memberships is a step in the right direction

membership numbers are about people who care enough to belong - for some it is about pet membership. For Others its going to every game no matter where. For me as a Sharks fan it is joining the Club sticking the sticker on the car and spending $2000 to see the Club once a year at Redmonis (travelling to the Shire from Hobart) and wearing the new jersey all year round. Whatever it is we belong. Membership is not a simple design, entity or format and why oh why you bastards argue about it so much is beyond me.

Memberships should be for sale in KMart, Target, Coles, Rebel Sport etc in the form of a club-specific gift card that can be counter purchased. A little like ITunes, XBox Live cards etc.

We need to have a presence for regular consumers, not just preaching to the converted.
