Is this an old Panthers jersey on Andrew Chan on Tuesday?

I've no problem if some funding was used to work out if a change to ref colours would make a positive impact. Sometimes little things like this can make a difference

I, however, can also see someone like Slothfield using this against the NRL, claiming they are anti-female or some rubbish

4th year uni student actually.
I've seen some ridiculous stuff studied but a consultation on referee uniform colours and the authority status that is perceived of these colours tops it all.

Does it really?

Id have thought that if the refs themselves have flagged this as an issue that the NRL would want to explore every avenue at their disposal to rectify the situation.

Honestly, I think it makes sense to take such actions

I don't think the NRL themselves actually commissioned any direct research, I dare say they've been made aware of studies into colours and discipline...

Perhaps. That is why i said i'd have no problem IF the NRL actually did direct funding to this

I just don't get why they announced the rationale for their decision?

Why not just let us see the refs in different colours (outside of fanatical forums like this, probably would have hardly been noticed or mentioned) or just announce they've freshened up the refs uniforms to include new colours. Easy

Because then you'd probably have people whinging that the NRL are not being transparent with their decisions

It really doesn't matter what colour the referees wear. By 10pm tonight we'll all see that they're still actually in red and green.

The material of the ref uniform honestly looks better than the players jerseys (there is just something about the modern jersey that has always annoyed me).

I wonder how the ref-uniform material would stand up to 80 minutes of bodycontact...

More than 80 mins.

NRL jerseys are kept through the entire season!

Actually, 10 turned it into "NRL hates gay and feminine men" story.

"Real men dont wear pink. At least the NRL think so. Find out why NEXT..."

Sounds like a story that Melbourne based, lefty circle jerk "The Project" would come up with. Was that the show it was on?
