Wests Tigers to wear Heritage jersey

Fri 8th May, 02:03PM

Wests Tigers will wear a special heritage jersey for tonight’s Round 9 NRL match against the Sydney Roosters at Allianz Stadium.

The strip, which commemorates the 10-year anniversary of the Club’s 2005 premiership victory, will be worn for the first time tonight in promotion of the upcoming celebrations.

Be there at ANY four home games at ANY stadium for just $80! Select your four today!
Wests Tigers’ next home game in Round 11 against North Queensland at Campbelltown Sports Stadium will host the official celebrations, with tickets available from ticketek.com.au now.

The match against the Cowboys on Saturday, May 23 will feature special game day activities with players from the 2005 team, as well as a three-match program.

The heritage jersey is available for purchase from roarstore.com.au

Old Junior Roos jersey was an inverted Emus jumper as the green and gold were switched around. As Saint Doc posted:

GAZF's one is ok, but I'd prefer the changing thickness in the stripes of the Emus/PMXII/Jnr Roos jersey and that the newer versions stop at the tip of the V

The uniform stripe widths were an attempt to combine the classic double V with this:

To me, the '94 tour style seems very dated and unsuited to a national jersey. Plus the V touching the stripes drives me nuts.

To those wanting to add gold to the Kiwis national colours, they have over 100 years of history in black and white. You don't need to manufacture a history when there already is one.

It doesnt mean their brand cant be improved on...

And i think "oldest international rugby league team on the planet" is a pretty nice claim to hold; which is what the All Golds represent.

(and its not like that one little strip of gold takes away from their present image)

Storm Women In League jersey.

I'm still waiting for a club to adopt the NBA/NHL idea of St. Patrick's day jerseys. There aren't enough clubs wearing green in the NRL!

Begs the question. Why has the NRL not adopted Mothers Day weekend as Women in League round. Seems a missed opportunity to have it a week late. Sure, not all women are mothers, but it couldn't hurt the image they are trying to showcase.

Although, maybe Sunday crowds would be down, giving a less flattering result.

Would it be a reasonable programming change?

it would make way too much sense. given they come up with draws which have the same teams playing within a few weeks of each other and cant admit it doesnt work i cant see them putting WIL round on to coincide with mothers day

This one.

It was worn during the 1994 Kangaroo tour, only against club sides.

The same design has been used by the Junior Kangaroos a few times, even with reversed colours.

Evidence that some things are best left in the past

PS. If anyone buys that "all things Queensland" jersey please send us photos so we can publicly shame them. Absolutely putrid, vile, disgusting garbage.

Kiddly fiddlers should be made to wear them as a form of punishment imo

I've ordered one to give my brother for his birthday, because he's a Queensland fan and I f**king hate him. I'm hoping he'll wear it in public and get bashed.
