I assume pay packets are probably driving factor, but this is the problem with keeping players with obvious batting problems in the side, against the same attack and when you do drop them apparently not having the coaching there to fix those problems. After 5 test match losses in a row, one would think they need to make changes but the main issue is our middle order and apart from Voges who has probably played his last test, does Ferguson deserve to be dropped after 1 match when everyone else failed with him?
Smith, Warner and Usman to stay and despite his failures in Hobart, we know Burns can bat so assume the top 4 are settled and leave Ferguson in there for the nothing to win 3rd test. Our quick bowlers haven't done a bad job (SA Second innings in Perth was on a batsmen's wicket) so lock-in Starc, Hazlewood and give Mennie another crack.
That leaves Voges, Lyon and Nevill. Nevill is doing some good work with the gloves but cannot be relied on with the bat. Voges seems to have lost all form and Lyon hasn't helped his cause with 12 runs and only 2 wickets for the series.
What guarantee any replacements will do better though is the problem.

On Tuesday 23 February Julia Finn MP, member for Granville welcomed the Oceans 12 cricket team to the NSW Parliament.
The team is comprised of Sri Lankan Tamil asylum seekers. They entered and won the Last Man Stands Sydney Sports League competition and went on to win the statewide competition. They are the current Sydney champions and have won the Western Sydney World Cup three times.
It's great fun too, and not a slogathon necessarily. I love it. Although that could be because my average is 25 runs higher in T20 cricket than 50 over cricket lolLast Man Stands is a f**king awesome competition too.
Competition points for wearing matching uniforms!
He definitely always looks like he is crying. Very much improved cricketer though from when he first came into the team. Starting to look like a bit of a gun actually. My god, Quinton de Kock definitely looks upset! Has he got tears in his eyes?
Actually scratch that, on further reflection that's just his face all the time...
