Sadly it looks like this game is here to stay. But at least the players feel comfortable enough to give it the arse now. Hopefully it will just become another voluntary trial match that coaches can use to test players.

Having said that I am in great spirits about the new season being about to kick off. Welcome to 2016, ladies.

It doesn't appear to mean much to the World side but I think it's still pretty significant to the Indigenous side and by extension indigenous people.

Plus I mean, Donald Trump? Really?

With all the player drop outs and players who aren't 'stars' replacing them the game just becomes farcical. The very fact that guys like Kahu, McDonald, Lawrence and Maranta (even though he isn't playing) are in a world all stars team is a joke. Barba starting ahead of Soward is a stupid choice as well.

World team to win because of the fact that they have Smith leading the team and a good halves pairing of Widdop and A.Reynolds.

The game should be either Indigenous v Maori, or NSW Indigenous v QLD Indigenous.
Something to add a bit more meaning to the game.
This game was fantastic a few years ago

I just don't really see what motivation there is for the World All Stars - to deny the indigenous their celebration? To not get injured?

The concept would be far more intereting if it had some genuine competition. A Pacific combined side would be great to see or even a rotation between IAS vs Samoa/Tonga/PNG etc every year. Just something where both sides feel like they have something to play for and are passionate about the heritage of their teams.

I thought it was an annual event to promote the career of Jessica Mauboy.
