Roosters second?

RTS gone
Jennings gone
Maloney gone
Cordner out until R10ish
JWH out until R10ish
Pearce yet to cop a punishment but potentially missing a chunk of the season also.

If the Roosters made the top 8 it would be a miracle considering they will definitely be missing 5 quality players from last years top 17. The opening 10 weeks will be very tough for them especially. If Pearce cops a big punishment I could see them going closer to the spoon than the top 8.

Roosters are a quality club and I'm sure Robinson will have a plan. However losing 6 of your usual starting 13 from previous years (including 3 spine players) and not buying anyone of note? Making top 4 would be a monumental effort.

Ok I'll give it a go. Titans, Tigers, Knights are the only sides I don't see as a top 8 threat unless absolutely everything goes right for them. The rest it comes down largely to injuries/form/luck.

Broncos
Storm
Sea Eagles
Cowboys
Warriors
Dragons
Raiders
Sharks

Souths
Panthers
Roosters
Eels
Bulldogs
Knights
Tigers
Titans

Roosters are going to come back to the pack a little bit, you can't lose that much talent in vital positions and keep on keeping on, but they still have a very talented roster, and one of the best coaches in the game
They'll be just fine, I'd say 4-6th place

I think they'll be struggling to make the 8. They have a history over the past 15 years of yo-yoing. This year is the year they drop.

Great summation - spot on, but people are like lemmings...

After signing Jennings and winning the 9's I think Eels will win the minor premiership

Roosters will be interesting to watch this year. We'll find out how good Robinson really is as a coach, especially in regards to getting the youngsters to step up and be leaders rather than following guys like Cornder/JWH.

Can't forget that Stuart was a supercoach when he won a GF and contested 2 others in his first 3 years. Fittler/Hodges then left along with a couple of others and things weren't so easy.

If the Roosters keep things together for the first half of the season I think they'll make the 8, but any more injuries and it is going to be a struggle.

eels won't make the 8

You are probably right. But considering who they've bought they can only improve on last year, surely? If Foran n Norman stay on the paddock, i think they could be in the hunt for 7th-9th. If not (ive heard Foz has barely trained properly all off season and has hammy issues) youd have to say itll be another long year for Parra fans....
I guess you can say that for all teams though....

People have not paid attention to the Auckland Nines or the World Club Challenge.

The Roosters showed that even having lost forever Roger Tuivasa-Sheck and James Maloney, and now being without Jared Whaerea Hargreaves and Boyd Cordner for 10 weeks, and Mitchell Pearce for an unknown period, they are still a top class team. The Roosters have a top class coach. There is tremendous depth in the forwards. Finally Jayden Nikorima and Latrell Mitchell are future super stars of the NRL.

The Roosters will not only make the top 8, they are a good chance for the top 4.

Here is my revised ranking, based upon the Auckland Nines and the WCC:

1. Brisbane Broncos
2. North Queensland Cowboys
3. Sydney Roosters
4. New Zealand Warriors

5. Cronulla Sharks
6. Manly Sea Eagles.
7. Melbourne Storm
8. Canberra Raiders

9. South Sydney Rabbitohs
10. Parramatta Eels
11. Penrith Panthers
12. Canterbury Bulldogs

13. St George-Illawarra Dragons
14. Gold Coast Titans
15. Newcastle Knights
16. Wests Tigers

So taking into account their 9's winning form, you've dropped the Eels 1 spot on your list from 9th to 10th?? So are you one of those people that aren't paying attention to the 9's or WCC?
