Given that it is in the UK, does that mean we will have those farkstick commentators, including old mate that says "that's a T-R-Y"?

I f**ken hope it doesn't.

Gold Coast Titans star Jarryd Hayne overlooked for PM's XIII clash with PNG

Adrian Proszenko

Jarryd Hayne won't be reclaiming his Kangaroos jersey any time soon after the Gold Coast star was snubbed from the traditional selection trial for the Australian jersey.

Hayne has been omitted from the Prime Minister's XIII squad to take on PNG on September 24 in Port Moresby in another setback to his rugby league comeback.

Footage of Hayne partying with alleged Hells Angels gang member Chris Bloomfield has been referred to the NRL's integrity unit, although that incident didn't play any role in the cross-code star's snubbing.

However, his patchy form since returning to rugby league means he won't be one of the possible or probable Kangaroos contenders at National Football Stadium against the Kumuls.

Australian coach Mal Meninga told Fairfax Media last month that Hayne wasn't a realistic chance of breaking back into the national team unless he made an immediate impact with the Titans. While Hayne has showed flashes of his brilliant best - including kicking the winning field goal against the Wests Tigers - he is still taking time to adjust to the NRL following his stints in the NFL and sevens rugby.

Meninga's No.1 for the PNG clash will be James Tedesco, while fellow fullbacks Josh Dugan and Greg Inglis will be the centre pairings.

Mitchell Moses has been rewarded for his late-season form with the Tigers and will slot into the halves with Roosters No.7 Mitchell Pearce. It is a tremendous comeback for Pearce, who will attempt to position himself as the back-up halfback to Cooper Cronk for the tour of Europe. Pearce is now a chance of making his Test debut just months after his career was at the crossroads following his infamous Mad Monday incident.

Hayne's former Parramatta teammate Semi Radradra is also part of the side despite missing a portion of the season through injury.

Junior Kiwi James Fisher-Harris has earned a spot on the NZ Kiwis training squad for next month’s test against Australia in Perth and the subsequent Four Nations Tournament in England.

The Penrith Panthers forward was named in the national U20 side in May, but had to withdraw from their encounter with the Junior Kangaroos through injury.

Penrith were eliminated from the NRL playoffs by Canberra Raiders last weekend, ushering Fisher-Harris, Dallin Watene-Zelezniak, Suaia Matagi and Te Maire Martin into the national squad.

After two previous false starts, DWZ finally made his Kiwis debut in May, while Matagi was part of the triumphant 2014 Four Nations campaign, coming off the bench against Samoa.

Like Fisher-Harris, five-eighth Martin also stepped up to first grade this season, but missed Penrith’s run to the playoffs with a shoulder injury.

Joining them in the wider group are Brisbane Broncos Adam Blair, Alex Glenn and Jordan Kahu, who were ousted from the premiership race by North Queensland Cowboys in a rematch of last season’s grand finalists.

All three were named for the May test against Australia, but Glenn withdrew with a calf injury. Blair co-captained the Kiwis in England last year and Kahu’s ability to play a variety of positions has proven valuable since debuting on that same tour.

Vodafone Warriors prop Ben Matulino has withdrawn from contention for off-season surgery, while new coach David Kidwell has added Warriors hooker/second row Jazz Tevaga.

The latest inclusions brings the current squad to 31, with more to come after next weekend’s NRL semi-finals.

The final touring squad of 24 will be named during the week after the NRL Premiership Grand Final on October 2.

The Kiwis face Australia on October 15 and kick off their Four Nations title defence against hosts England on October 29.

The current NZ Kiwis train-on squad is:

Adam Blair Brisbane Broncos
Lewis Brown Manly Warringah Sea Eagles
Greg Eastwood Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs
James Fisher-Harris Penrith Panthers
Addin Fonua-Blake Manly Warringah Sea Eagles
David Fusitu’a NZ Warriors
Alex Glenn Brisbane Broncos
Shaun Johnson NZ Warriors
Jordan Kahu Brisbane Broncos
Solomone Kata NZ Warriors
Shaun Kenny-Dowall Sydney Roosters
Thomas Leuluai NZ Warriors
Sam Lisone NZ Warriors
Isaac Liu Sydney Roosters
Tuimoala Lolohea NZ Warriors
Issac Luke NZ Warriors
Simon Mannering NZ Warriors
Te Maire Martin Penith Panthers
Suaia Matagi Penrith Panthers
Manu Ma’u Parramatta Eels
Sam Moa Sydney Roosters
Jason Nightingale St George Illawarra Dragons
Tim Simona Wests Tigers
Brad Takairangi Parramatta Eels
Martin Taupau Manly Warringah Sea Eagles
Elijah Taylor Wests Tigers
Jazz Tevaga NZ Warriors
Bodene Thompson NZ Warriors
Manu Vatuvei NZ Warriors
Jared Waerea-Hargreaves Sydney Roosters

Semi not considered due to upcoming pending court case.

I wonder. It's a good excuse. Why select him last week the. If that's the case?

I am thinking he wasn't selected so as to justify the non-selection of Fifita. I certainly don't agree with his backing of Kieran Loveridge or that he should be using his status as an NRL player to push it but given the charges that have been brought up against current and past players and they are still selected it's a knee jerk reaction once again by the NRL.

I guess if his court case is scheduled during the tour, then the NRL want him to face the music rather than have it adorned.

Also we don't know his terms of bail. He may not be allowed to travel to UK.

You get no argument from me. I totally agree.

Does anyone actually know when Semi's court case is actually cheduled for, because i know a lot of legal cases drag on? If it is not scheduled for the duration of this tournament, it is a pissweak excuse.
